Resume and Cover Letter Guide

A resume and cover letter are important documents for job applications. A resume provides a summary of a person's work experience, education, skills and achievements. It includes sections for contact information, work history, education and skills. A cover letter introduces the applicant and resume, highlights relevant qualifications and experience for the specific role, and expresses interest in the company and position. Cover letters should be formatted like a business letter with greeting, introduction, body paragraphs detailing skills and fit, and closing thanking the recipient. Both the resume and cover letter are key parts of an application that showcase an individual's background and suitability for a job.
