INTRODUCTION
→ Chhattisgarh is located in Central India. The state shares border with Madhya Pradesh
and Maharashtra in the West, Uttar Pradesh in the North, Odisha and Jharkhand in the
East and Andhra Pradesh in the South.
→ The languages spoken are Chhattisgarhi and its local dialects, Hindi and English.
→ Bhilai, Durg, Bilaspur, Korba and Rajnandgaon are some of the major cities of the state.

GSDP 0F CHHATTISGARH
At current prices, Gross State Domestic
Product (GSDP) of Chhattisgarh is estimated
at Rs. 3.62 trillion (US$ 51.39 billion) in 2020-
21. GSDP (in Rs.) of the state at current
prices will grow at a CAGR of 9.97% between
2015-16 and 2020-21.
It is among the richest Indian states in terms
of mineral wealth, with 28 varieties of major
minerals, including diamonds. Chhattisgarh
ranked fourth in terms of value of mineral
production (excluding atomic, fuel and minor
minerals) in India, with a 15.66% share in
2018-19.

→ In 2014-15, the Net State Domestic


Product (NSDP) of Chhattisgarh was
about US$ 24.7 billion.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF GUJARAT
INTRODUCTION
→ Gujarat is located on the Western coast of
India and has the longest coastline of 1,600
km in the country. The state shares its border
with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra
and the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and
Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The Arabian Sea
borders the state both to the West and the
South-West.

GSDP 0F GUJARAT
Gujarat is one of the leading industrialised
states in India. At current prices, Gujarat’s
Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) was ~Rs.
16.59 trillion (US$ 267.40 billion) from 2020 to
2021. The state’s GSDP increased at a CAGR of
10.02% between 2015-16 and 2020-21.
There are 13 major industry groups that
together account for around 82.05% of total
factories, 95.85% of total fixed capital
investment, 90.09% of the value of output and
93.21% of value addition in Gujarat's industrial
economy. Total exports from the state stood at
US$ 63,447 million in 2019-20 and US$ 37,852
million in 2020-21 during April-November
2020.

→ The Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) of


Gujarat was about US$ 96.7 billion in 2010-11.

3) INFRASTRUCTURE
CHHATTISGARH -
• Chhattisgarh has become a major investment
destination after it was carved out as a new state in
November 2000. Many corporate houses have
Chhattisgarh on their investment [Link] order to make
the state a favoured location, investment in
infrastructure needs to be stepped up.

.• There is an urgent need to implement the Bastar


Raoghat project, which would bring about the much-
needed revolution of transporting mineral resources
from their source location for use by Industries. The
teledensity of the state of Chhattisgarh is 3 telephones
per 100 citizens and this needs to be stepped up with
sufficient telecom infrastructure in the remotest areas
of the state.
GUJARAT-
Gujarat, the westernmost state of India, houses some of the biggest industries
of the country. Gujarat infrastructure is quite developed and accommodates a
number of industries. The major industrial and infrastructural hubs of the state
include Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Jamnagar.

The state of the art infrastructure projects have helped Gujarat become one of
the richest and most developed states in the country. The various industries in
the state depend on the infrastructure sectors significantly.

Per capita income: The per capita income of
Chhattisgarh in 2019-20 is estimated at Rs 98,281
(6.3% higher than that of 2018-19).

At current prices, Gross State Domestic Product

The estimated per capita income across the


state of Chhattisgarh in India stood at around
92 thousand Indian rupees in the financial year
2019.
GUJARAT-
The estimated per capita income across the
western state of Gujarat in India stood at around
195 thousand Indian rupees in the financial year
2019. There was a consistent increase in the
income per capita in the state since the financial
year 2012. Goa recorded the highest per capita
income that year.
