Chapter Objectives:
At the end of this chapter, the students are expected to:
1. Define the meaning of staffing;
2. Describe the nature and scope of staffing;
3. Discuss the content of staffing procedure;
4. Identify the factors to consider in compensating
employees;
5. Cite ways to ensure employee health and safety; and
6. Recognize the nature and importance of employee
relations.
Human Resource Management Defined
is the process of recruiting, selecting, inducting
employees, providing orientation, imparting training and
development, appraising the performance of employees,
deciding compensation and providing benefits, motivating
employees, maintaining proper relations with employees
and their trade unions, ensuring employees safety, welfare
and healthy measures in compliance with labour laws of
the land and finally following the Orders / Judgements of
the concern High Court and Supreme Court, if any.
