• Differential treatment of individual on the basis of their gender. In
many societies, this involves systematic and structural discrimination
against women in the distribution of income, access to resources and
participation in decision making process (access to opportunities). It is
the prejudicial treatment of a person on the basis of gender
stereotype.

• Predominantly an issue for women


Factors of Gender Discrimination
1. Prejudice- pre-judgment or false belief about some person or group
in advance.

2. Traditional gender roles- male dominance in the society and


suppressing woman’s right.

3. Religion- women are suffering in countries where religion is law.
