E-Learning Based On Cloud Computing.

E-learning refers to internet-enabled learning that provides a storehouse of education, information, communication, training, knowledge and performance management. Cloud computing refers to manipulating, configuring, and accessing applications online through a combination of software and hardware resources delivered as a network service. Using a Software as a Service model, cloud computing allows for the delivery of e-learning platforms and software applications as an online service. This reduces costs for institutions providing e-learning and makes systems easier to deploy across multiple locations as they are centrally administered in the cloud.

What is E-learning?

The letter `e’ in e-learning stands for the word `electronic’.

E-learning pioneer BERNARD LUSKIN(2001) explains `e’ as exciting,

energetic, enthusiastic, emotional, extended and educational.

E-learning is internet-enabled learning.

It is a store house of education, information, communication, training, knowledge

and performance management.

What is Cloud?

The term Cloud refers to a Network or Internet. In other words, we

can say that Cloud is something, which is present at remote
location.

Cloud can provide services over network, i.e., on public networks

or on private networks, i.e., WAN, LAN or VPN. Applications such
as e-mail, web conferencing, customer relationship management
(CRM), all run in cloud.

COMPUTING?

Cloud Computing refers to manipulating, configuring, and accessing the

applications online. It offers online data storage, infrastructure and
application.

Cloud Computing is both a combination of software and hardware-

based computing resources delivered as a network service.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, technology is being used increasingly by institutions to provide e-

learning services.

These institutions face a wide range of challenges in implementing these systems

such as costs, a lack of technical resources, and resistance by key stakeholders to
the implementation of systems. Cloud-based learning systems are emerging as an
attractive method for providing e-learning services.

They can reduce costs due to lower requirements of hardware and software, and
less need for on site maintenance. They are also easier to deploy across multiple
locations as they are centrally administered.
