 It is a system for managing the hostel activities

 It helps the admin to manage:


1. Student record
2. Staff record
3. Mess bill
4. Allotting room
5. Generating student report

 The old system of keeping records in hostel was paper


file system. On which records are kept in a paper file by
hand. There were many problems such as :-
1. Lack of security
2. Time consuming
3. Consumes large volume of paperwork.
4. lack of storage.

 To make the present manual system more interactive, speedy,


user friendly, and provide a quick response for users.

 This section discusses findings and observations done by


some research works on hostel management system.
 In one of the study, the main aim of the system was to
manage the various activities of hostel.
 In another study it was found out that it is important for
every hostel to use an information system to manage data
in hostel.
 Also, it observed that the manual system had some
disadvantages.
METHODOLOGY 10

 This section presents the research methodology used


in the study, the research design and the data
collection process.

 It also presents the theoretical or conceptual


framework of the study, the sampling plan, and tools
to be used for data analysis.

 All the details related to hosteller could be fining in one

 The same system could be used by both the account
section and the hostel management for their specific
