Contains the most voluminous record of ancient
Egyptian medicine known
The scroll contains some 700 magical formulas
and remedies. It is also evidence of a long
tradition of empiricism

Romans and Greeks had a good undertanding of poisoning
applications, even penal applications.
The Lex Cornelia was the firs law to regullate poisonnings.

Greek pharmacologist and physician wrote the Materia
Medica, which is the basis for the modern pharmacopeia.
Described and draw of several poisons.
Understanded substances frome its origins: animal, vegetal
or mineral kingdom,
1493- Paracelsus
Swiss German philosopher, physician, botanist, astrologer,
and general occultist.
Experimentation is needed to know and to understand the

Published the first toxicology “encyclopedia” pretending to
unify toxicology knowledge and to diminish the perception of
