Locomotor Movements
1. STEP – basis of all locomotor movement.
2. WALK – series of steps executed by both
feet in any direction.
3. RUN – series of walk executed quickly in
any direction.
4. JUMP – both feet lose its contact with the
ground.
Non- Locomotor Movements
1. FLEXION (BEND) – act of decreasing the angle
of a joint.
2. EXTENSION (STRETCHING) – the opposite of
flexion.
3. CONTRACTION – a muscle movement done
when it shortens, narrows, and tightens.
4. RELEASE – a muscle movement opposite to
contraction.
Non- Locomotor Movements
5. COLLAPSE – deliberately drop the exertion of
energy into a body segment.
6. RECOVER – the opposite of collapse. To regain
energy.
7. ROTATION – to move the body allowing it to
complete a circle with its motion.
8. TWIST – to move a body segment from an
