INTRODUCTION TO FMCG
FMCG are typically low value products with a regular high turnover of product.
Because of likelihood of bulk sales, they are very profitable.
The FMCG industry previously was not attractive from investor’s point of view.
The FMCG sector are the 4th largest sector in the Indian Economy.
There are three main segments in the sector-
a) Food and Beverages which accounts to 19% .
b) Healthcare which accounts to 31% and Household.
c) Personal Care accounts for the remaining 50 percent.
The FMCG sector is highly competitive.
More than 50 per cent of the total revenues of FMCG companies come from products worth Rs 10 or less.

COMPANY PROFILE
“ITC LIMITED” is an Indian Multi-national Conglomerate company headquartered in Calcutta.
ITC LIMITED established in 1910 as “Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited” and the company was renamed as “India Tobacco
Company” in 1970 and again to “I.T.C LIMITED” in 1974.
Within a short period of time, ITC developed many brands.
This growth has been rated by a Nielson Report to be the fastest.
ITC is the only enterprise in the world to be carbon-positive, water-positive, and solid waste recycling positive.
ITC Limited, ICML plant in Trichy was announced by our former Chief Minister Dr. J JAYALALITHA in the Global Investors meet held at
Chennai.
This plant focus on manufacturing of FMCG through Integrated Consumer goods Manufacturing and Logistics (ICML).
