BALANGAY SHRINE MUSEUM (libertad)
It is a small open-air museum which houses one out of the nine “balangays,” an old
wooden boat, discovered on 1970’s by the local treasure hunters.
The balangay is said to be more than 300 years old which measures 15 meters long and 3
meters wide.
CENTURY OLD BITAUG TREE (MAGALLANES)
A 500-year old tree announced by
the Philippine Centennial
Commission as a centennial tree.
It is lit by fireflies at night making
it a natural beacon for night
fishermen.
On June 23, 2017, the branches of the Bitaug was broke according to the residence near at
the tree. The breakage of its huge branches was due to the center rot caused by fungus
inside it.

be the most beautiful place in the province of
Agusan del Sur.

AGUSAN MARCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (BUNAWAN)
It is considered as one of the most
ecologically significant wetlands in the
Philippines encompassing about 14,000
hectares of interconnecting rivers,
channels, lakes, swamp forests and
hydrophytic plants.
Aside from bird-watching,
sightseeing, cruising with a dug-out
canoe, and possible swimming, you’ll
also get to experience the life and
culture of the Manobo Tribe.
ONGOP CAVE
It has a huge opening and inside the
cave, waters are coming from different
directions but local drink it believing that
it is a source of healing that cures
different illnesses.
Amazing stalactites and stalagmite
formations can be found in the cave. One
of the most prominent formation is the
“Golden Staircase“.
Ongop Cave is located in Sitio Ongop,
Barangay Mabuhay, Prosperidad, Agusan
del Sur.
