what is energy conservation and energy audit
Energy conservation means to reduce growth of energy
consumption by avoiding unnecessary uses of energy.
Energy efficiency is achieve when energy intensity is reduce
without affecting output
Energy audit –
Energy audit is incepection survey and analysis of energy
flow for energy conservation in between in may include the
process or system to reduce the amount of energy input
into the system without negatively affecting the output
Need of energy conservation
1)Everyday flip switches work in busy factories using energy at switch
growing day by day energy is playing important roll.
2)There is strong corelation between energy use as per capacity and
standard or living in each economy.
3)Low cost energy was available in past.
4)Energy consumption in India is very low as compare to advance
cities.
5)The gap between demand and supply of energy is increasing day by
day due to increase use of electricity.
Therefour energy conservation is very important
Energy conservation act-2001
1)Energy conservation act 2001 when some ligal accept so as to
promote energy conservation.
2)polycies and provision under this act keep in contain
1) Benefits of high energy saving
2)reduction the demand supply gas
3)reduction of harmful emission to environment by energy ssaving
4)Established of beureu of energy efficiency if association with
ministry of power regulated energy management center is under
provision of this act.
Salient features of EC act-2001
1) standards and leballing program
2)Designated consumer
3)National exam for certification of energy auditor
4)Energy conservation building codes
5)central energy conservation fund
Energy conservation act- in this act use the energy
conservation equipment.
1)soft starter
2)Automatic power factor controller (APFC)
3)Automatic Star delta starter
4)Veriable frequency drive (VFD)
Energy conservation in lightning system
1) By replacing lamp sources
2)compact fluroscent tube (CFL)
3)High intensity discharge lamp (HID)
1) Mercury vapour lamp
2) Metal halide lamp
3) High pressure sodium vapour lamp
By replacing lamp sources
Incandenscent lamp replace CFLreplace LED to achieve energy conservation and improve efficiency
Incandescent lamp
voltage rating – 1.5 to 300V
Energy Used - 60W
life. - 1000 hours
lumens. - 800lm
Compact fluorescent lamp (CFL)
voltage rating – 120 To 300V
Energy used. - 13 to 14W
life. - 10000 hours
lumen. - 200-300 lm
Light emitting diode lamp (LED)
Energy used – 13 to 14 W
life. - 30000 house
lumen. - 200 – 300 lm
Purpose of energy audit
The purpose of energy audit is to analyes the energy flow in building and
understand it’s energy dyanamic during the energy audit
The auditor look for opportunities to reduce the amount of energy input into
the building without negatively affecting the output.
Importance of energy auditor
Energy audit is analysis of facility indicating how and where that
facility can reduce energy consumption and save energy cost.
The energy efficiency and conservation can lead to significance
saving on the company utility being.
