Line 1 : 85,000 ton
Line 2 : 85,000 ton
Line 3 : 70,000 ton
Line 4 : 70,000 ton
Total capacity : 310,000 ton
COAL SAMPLING AS RECEIVED
Coal Sampling is the process of taking a
portion of sample from all sample that
representative to checked for quality in
laboratory.
There are 2 company for supply coal for
this plant :
1. PT. MAL
2. PT. BBE
WEIGHT BRIDGE
The function of weight bridge is to
weight of the coal brought before
entering the paddle feeder and after
truck dumping coal.
There are two weight bridge :
1. Weight bridge in
2. Weight bridge out
PADDLE FEEDER
The Paddle Feeders feed the coal on
the conveyor belt from the Track
hopper at a controlled rate. The function
of paddle feeder to dumping coal
from mine and screening coal size to 30
x 30 cm before transfer to bunker/
stockpile.
Capacity : 300 -1000 t/h
Speed : 500 – 1500 r/min
Quantity : 12 (gates)
: 4 (Hopper)

SYSTEM OVERVIEW COAL HANDLING
The coal handling system for this plant unit is designed based on 2×
150 MW. The function of the system is to convey the coal to the
coal yard of power plant, and is to process it into suitable coal
granularity for boiler burning, and finally send it to the front coal
bunker of boiler. Equipment in coal handling system includes belt
conveyor, coal crusher and other coal conveying equipment for
completing coal transporting, conveying and crushing process.
BELT CONVEYOR
Belt conveyor in conveying system will be dual
way, with :
Width of : 1000 mm
Speed of : 2,5 m/s
Capacity of : 600 t/h.
There are eight belt conveyor for transfer coal :
1. Conveyor 1 A/B
2. Conveyor 2 A/B
3. Conveyor 3 A/B
4. Conveyor 4 A/B
5. Conveyor 5 A/B
6. Conveyor 6 A/B
7. Conveyor 7
8. Conveyor 8
MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
Magnetic separator used to separate
the iron metal from coal. Iron metal
carried on the coal stream will be dra
wn by the electromagnetic field and t
hen attached to the rotating conveyo
r and will fall on the shelter side.
STACKER RECLAIMER
A stacking is a large machine used to
stack coal to a stockpile
Stacking capacity 1.200t/h (coal).
A reclaiming is a large machine used
to reclaim coal to feed the bunker
Reclaiming capacity 600t/h (coal).
ROLLER SCREEN
Roller Screen used to filter / separate
large coal with small coal according
to predetermined size. Large coal will
enter the crusher to be destroyed into
smaller coal.
Rated Capacity : 800 t/h
Feed size : ≤300 mm
Discharge size : ≤20 mm
COAL CRUSHER
Coal crusher are used to crush big
Coals into small pieces of coal or into st
andard size.
Rated Capacity : 800 t/h
Input coal particle size : ≤300 mm
Output coal particle size : ≤20 mm
BUFFERING DRUM
The function of buffering drum to set
the flow of production before getting
into the conveyor.
Capacity : 600 t/h
COAL SAMPLING AS FIRED
Coal Sampling is the process of taking a portion of sample
from all sample that representative to checked for quality in
laboratory.
COAL PLOUGH
Coal plough is the equipment to drop
the coal from the conveyor so that
coal goes into the bunker.
Quantity : 10 (ten)
COAL BUNKER
Coal Bunker is the last coal shelter
before it is used for burning in the
boiler.
Capacity : ± 2000 ton for one
boiler
Speed : 500 – 1500 r/min
Quantity : Six for two units

ASH HANDLING SYSTEM
The ash handling system handles the
ash by bottom ash handling system and
fly ash handling system.
Fly ash is dry ash produced from coal
combustion on the furnace that was
carried along with flue gas catched by
ESP.
Bottom ash is wet ash produced from
burning process in furnace as sand
solids.
ESP (ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR)
An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is a
filtration device that removes fine particles, li
ke dust and ash, from a flowing gas using the
force of an induced electrostatic charge mini
mally impeding the flow of gases through the
unit.
The main device :
1. High Voltage Control
2. Transformers Reclifier
3. Discharge Electrode
4. Collecting Electrode
5. Rapping System
6. Low Voltage Control
HOPPER
The function of hopper to collecting
Fly ash that drop from collecting
Electrode and discharge electrode to
temporary store ash from ESP before
transfer to fly ash silo.
Quantity : 8 (eight) hopper
ASH VESSEL SYSTEM
The function of ash vessel system as
temporary storage before go to fly ash
silo.
Capacity:
1. 2 m3
2. 1,5 m3
3. 1 m3
FLY ASH SILO
Fly ash silo as a temporary storage
area that catched by ESP. Fly ash will
transported using dump truck and
discarded in ash yard.

BED ASH COOLER
The purposes of bed ash silo to cooling
bottom ash from temperature >850oC
to <150oC before being dropped into
bottom ash silo through chain bucket
conveyor.
BUCKET CONVEYER
Bucket conveyors consist of endless
chains or belts to which are attached
buckets to convey ash in horizontal,
inclined, and vertical paths. Bucket
conveyor used as a bottom ash
transport to bottom ash silo.
BOTTOM ASH SILO
Bottom ash silo as a temporary
Storage area that has bottom ash coo
led by cooler. Bottom ash will transp
orted using dump truck and discarde
d in ash yard.
