Natural Approach to Language Learning

The Natural Approach is a language teaching method based on theories of second language acquisition developed by Tracy Terrel and Stephen Krashen. It focuses on meaningful communication through comprehension rather than grammatical rules. The approach aims to help beginners become intermediates through acquisition via meaningful interaction, using pictures and words to build vocabulary without direct translation or early emphasis on speaking. While it creates a low-pressure environment for beginners, it may waste time and require teachers highly proficient in the target language.
