INTRODUCTION
Aviation in India, broadly divided into military and
civil aviation, is the fastest growing aviation market
in the world. Hence need to showcase the
evolution and history is evident.

AIM
The aim of the project is to preserve the glorious
tradition of the IAF and to create awareness in general
public about India’s rich aerospace heritage

OBJECTIVES
The aim can be achieved by incorporating following
objectives :-
•Interactive indoor and outdoor displays
•Display areas providing information about IAF
squadrons history, aviation legends, major campaigns,
wars fought by the IAF, civil aviation history.
•History of major humanitarian assistance and disaster
relief operations to be displayed.
•Plane spotting and observation areas near active
runways.
•Interactive display areas for children.
•Simulation zones.
•Audio visual arcades.
NEED
The current national museum situated in New Delhi was
established in 1967 and hence has an insufficient
infrastructure and display areas .
Due to improper infrastructure a shortage of information
about this topic can be observed.
The new proposal can help in providing proper
infrastructure and make the institution more attractive to
the younger generations.

SCOPE
The current museum has an average footfall of 500
tourist daily and IAF believes that the museum would be
a popular tourist attraction and land a landmark in the
country’s capital.
A proposal for the new aerospace museum has been
created by the ministry of defense and final financial
sanction on the detailed project is awaited.
