A review of
"where work happens"

Purpose
According to Slack's very own website, "Slack is a collaboration hub,
where the right people and the right information come together,
helping everyone get work done." (Slack, 2019).
In simpler terms, Slack is like a planner/ communication way that teams
can utilize to work towards a similar goal with peace of
mind. Using Slack gives teams a sense of organization.

Top Three Explain Them
The conversation channel is where the users' conversations are kept.

Intended Audience
Given Slack's slogan, "Where work happens", I would say their intended
audience is individuals in high school or college working collaboratively
with peers and/mentors and the men and women of the working
world. It is rather unlikely that children under the age of 15 would be
using an application like this one and it shows in their
advertisement/website/app.
Similarities between Slack and social media
1. People come together to communicate
2. There are several modes of communication (i.e. screen sharing,
voice calls, video calls)
3. Integration of other software/ programs
4. Accessible to individuals with a phone, laptop, desktop, tablet, etc.

Its Uses
Slack is the communication station for groups to remind each other of
events, ask one another questions, converse about the topic at hand,
and basically to make sure you are all collaborating, connecting, and
communicating in a positive and effective way.
Why might we adopt it?
As a college student, Slack can be a very useful tool for communicating
with peers, working on school projects, making sure everyone is on the
same page, giving out information, receiving information, and applying
information to the tasks at hand. Same thing for professors, Slack can
be used as a communication bridge to share with their class.

My Experiences
Speaking of using it in the classroom, a few peers and I have recently
started to use Slack for a Film project of ours. With Slack the
experience has felt much less stressful, more informative, and much
easier when trying to communicate with one another. I will definitely
continue to use Slack in the future.
Why do we care?
No matter where one goes, our world works in a collaborative manner,
why not make it a fun experience?
Collaborative Organized Reliable Accessible
