THE 10/40 WINDOW
THE 10/40 WINDOW is a rectangular-shaped area extending
from West Africa to East Asia, from ten degrees south to forty degrees
north of the equator.
•Nearly 4 billion people live here, including 90 percent of the world's
poorest of the poor. It is estimated that 1.6 billion of these people have
never had the chance to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ - not even
once!
• The seat of every major non-Christian religion - Islam, Buddhism,
Hinduism, Animism, Atheism, and Sikhism - is headquartered in the
10/40 Window.
• In many of the 68 countries represented in the 10/40 Window,
witnessing the Christian Gospel means death. Truly, the 10/40 Window
remains the darkest and most inhospitable territory to the cause of
Christ and represents the greatest remaining stronghold of Satan.
• Two-thirds of the world's population (4 billion) live in the 68 nations of
the 10/40 Window.
THE 10/40 WINDOW
• 95% of the people are unevangelized.
• 90% of the people are the poorest of the poor, averaging $250 per
family annually.
• 43 of the 50 worst countries in the world for persecution of Christians
are here.
• Only five pennies out of every $100 spent on missions goes to this
desperately needy area of the world.
• Illiteracy is widespread.
• Terrorist organizations and child prostitution run rampant in many of
these nations.
• Horrific abuse of women and children remains unchecked.
• Children as young as 18 months old are trained to be Jihad.

NEW TRIBES MISSION
New Tribes Mission helps local churches train, coordinate and send
missionaries to these tribes.
The NTM missionary team learns the tribal language and understands
the culture, so the message of the Gospel can be presented in the
language and the manner the people will understand.
They translate God's Word, teach people how to read and write their
own language, and teach through the Bible chronologically, laying a
foundation for the Gospel among people who have never met the God
of the Bible.
Missionaries disciple the new believers, equip them to lead their
church, and help them reach out to other villages within their own tribe
and to neighboring tribes
PRAYER REQUESTS (As of October 22, 2010):
Indonesia: Da'an tribe: Next week, Ken West will travel to Indonesia to
deliver three books of revised Bible lessons -- John, Romans and
Galatians -- to the Da'an church leaders and the missionary team
serving there. Please pray that Ken will be a blessing and
encouragement to the church and that the revised lessons will help the
church to grow spiritually.
Paraguay: Manjui tribe: A recent check of the translation of Matthew
went very well and missionary Gordie Hunt believes that the book will
really communicate to the Manjui readers and Bible teachers. "Our next
step now is to go through one final reader's check with one of our
better translation helpers, and then we will work on publishing the
book," Gordie wrote.
Guinea: After months of delay the Presidential election is scheduled for
this Sunday. In the past election time has been associated with unrest
in Guinea. Jim and Carol Sheffield delayed their return to Guinea
because of this. They are now planning to return in January. They ask
that you "Pray that everything will happen peacefully so that Guinea
may enjoy tranquility and prosperity. Pray also that those doors will
remain open for God's work.

Philippine Missionary Institute (PMI)
The Philippine Missionary Institute (PMI) started as a result of the
regular Summer Camps for young people which began in 1957 by the
workers of Philippine Missionary Fellowship, Inc. (PMF) at Cavite.
Before the Summer Camp of 1960 ended, 12 of the young people
committed themselves to prayer for a bible school. Through the staff of
that Camp, they requested the PMF Board of Directors to start a regular
training school so they could prepare themselves for rural missionary
work in a rural pioneering setting. However, PMF was not ready to start
a regular Bible school. But seeing both the enthusiasm of those young
people and the commitment of Pastor Arsenio Dominguez, the PMF
Board approved the start of the Bible School.

Christian Literature Crusade
CLC is an international organization committed to the distribution of the
Bible, Christian books and a variety of Christian media. Our teams are
drawn from many nations, denominations and backgrounds. All are
dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and to the task of helping
others to know Him better through the materials we distribute.
CLC is established in 57 countries. It is represented by more than 180
bookshops, 18 distribution warehouses and 18 publishing houses. The
CLC work in each country is set up independently. We are united by our
common vision, goals and International Constitution.
However, CLC is more than a chain of bookshops, rather it is our desire
to see people's lives changed though making evangelical literature
available to all nations so that people may come to faith and maturity in
Christ. It is an established fact that a large percentage of people
converting to Christianity do so through the reading of a Christian
book.
-Pray for the work of CLC in your country and around the world.
OMF Literature
OMF Literature is a movement of Christians who desire to
honor God by depending on the Holy Spirit to achieve excellence in
proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promoting spiritual growth
primarily among Filipinos, living in the Philippines and abroad, through
the effective and righteous management of a publishing business.
MISSION:
To publish, import, and market books, other literary materials and related
merchandise that are Christ-centered, biblically sound and culturally
relevant in proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, equipping Church
leaders and drawing all, particularly the youth, to the Lord.
Philippine Christian Bookstore
The Philippine Christian Literature Inc. (PCLI) and its ministry, the
Philippine Christian BookStores (PCBS) began as a vision of two
missionaries who recognized the important role that Christian literature
plays in the spiritual growth of a Christian. It all started when a missionary
couple, Alfie and May Johnston, came to the Philippines in 1952, three
years after China fell into the hands of the Communists in 1949.
Under the China Inland Mission, (which later evolved into the Overseas
Missionary Fellowship) the Johnstons started publishing Christian tracts
and booklets along with other missionaries in Manila. So intense was their
calling to distribute and make Christian literature available to as many
people as possible that they even went to the extent of displaying their
goods right along the sidewalks ("banketas") of Manila.
As the demand for high-quality Christian literature steadily increased, the
need for a more structured organization of the Christian literature ministry
became more and more evident. Thus, the OMF Publishers was established
in 1957. During the same year, it opened its first bookstore called the Good
News Book Center in Calapan, Mindoro. The second bookstore called
Christian Book Supply opened shortly afterwards along Herran St. corner
Taft Avenue. Two years later, a third bookstore was opened in Baguio City
in 1959.
