Born March 1, 1810 in Zelazowa Wola
in Poland and died in October 17, 1849
Family of three sisters and a Polish
mother, Justyna and French father,

fine violinist too
His other was his first teacher

professional piano teacher
TIMELINE
His first composition was at 7 yrs old. He had composed 2 polonaises and had begun
to give concerts. At this young age, he is so gifted at the piano.
First public performance at 8 yrs old where he gave his first piano recital.
Chopin gave his first concert at the Warsaw Concert Hall.
At the age of 20, he already composed many works for the piano and he moved to
Paris.
Finished his formal education in 1830
TRAVELING & PLAYING
Moved to Paris in 1830 where he would live for 18 years
and write some of his best works
In Paris, Chopin formed friendships with Franz Lizst,
Hector Berlioz, Felix Mendelssohn, and Vincenzo Bellini
Much of his life he suffered from poor health and he had
to give private classes and perform in public to support
himself
In his new apartment, Chopin composed on his last Piano.
Financially supported by his admirer, Jane Stirling
Stirling was an amateur Scottish pianist, referred to as his
widow
He returned to Paris in 1848, but was unable to teach or
perform
He died because of tuberculosis in October 17 1848
Nearly 3,000 people attended
Chopin’s funeral at the Church
Of The Madeleine in Paris. By his
request, Mozart’s Requiem was
sung at his funeral
