CYMS in Airline Industry

 Airline industry is extensively using CYMS


 Yield Management is essential for the profitable operation of
complex and competitive airline industry
 First CRS system is SABRE and was developed by American Airlines
with IBM
 Today SABRE is globalised and the system is in place in 54 countries
and 130,000 terminals are connected to this system
 Additional features have been added to it such as flight
plans,schedule crews,manage cargo etc
 AADT developed A CYMS called DINAMO(dynamic inventory and
maintenece optimiser)
 This tool used for maximisation revenue on each flight for the
Airlines
 DINAMO combines all the complex variable required in the
calculation of yield management
 Include passenger demand,cancellations,no show details
 DINAMO Allows Inventory management team to forecast the
expected yield
 This information enables relevant personell to define expected
forecast demand
 And most appropriate pricing strategy to be used in various market
segments
CYMS in Hotel Industry
• Hotel managers use different technique to decide wheather or not to
book out a particular room
• CYMS is a management sales tool provide valuable aid to managers
• CYMS often stored within hotels automated front office systems
• CYMS information is basis for future predictions
• CYMS can be used to match room supply to demand and then to
