Anne Frank's Journey: From Germany to Hiding

Anne Frank was born in Germany in 1929 but fled to the Netherlands with her family in 1933 to escape Nazi persecution as her father was Jewish. In 1942, Anne and her family went into hiding in Amsterdam to avoid deportation by the Nazis. While in hiding for over two years, Anne received a diary for her 13th birthday and wrote about her experiences. However, in 1944 the group was arrested and deported to concentration camps. Otto Frank was the only one who survived. After the war, Otto had Anne's diary published which brought international attention to her story.
