KKS Standard

This document provides information about the Kraftwerk-Kennzeichen-System (KKS), which is a classification system used for power plants and their components. It describes the different levels and formats of codes used in the KKS system to identify systems, equipment, locations, and other elements. These include process codes to identify functions, point of installation codes, location codes, and various key codes like function keys and equipment unit keys to classify mechanical equipment, electrical components, and instrumentation. The document includes examples of how these codes are structured and combined to uniquely identify different parts of a power plant.

WHAT IS KKS?
 KKS = Kraftwerk-Kennzeichen-System

 KKS system is a classification system for the complete

power plant and its components and provides a common
language for the designer, the manufacturer and the user.
FORMAT OF CODE
 Types of Code and Breakdown Levels
1. Process-related code - identification of systems and items of
equipment according to their functions in mechanical, civil,
electrical and control and instrumentation engineering
2. Point of installation code - Identification of points of
installation of electrical and control and instrumentation
devices in installation units (e.g. in cabinets, panels, consoles)
3. Location code - Identification of locations in structures, on floors and
in rooms and also of fire areas and topographical stipulations (surface
area grid)
FORMAT OF CODE
TOTAL PLANT

 Breakdown level “0” may be omitted if the code remains unique;

this is subject to agreement between the parties to the project.

For the CHP II project;

Example; 23PAC10AP001
“2”is used for CHP II Block 1.
2 = CHP II Block 1
“3”is used for CHP II Block 2.
