Data Analytics Service - Implementation Plan

Development and maintenance of a unified, organization-wide plan for the use of the organization's data as a valuable asset for strategic and operational decision-making. The
intent for this data analytics as a service implementation plan is to enable BTT to build a strong data foundation, reduce risk and support the business in making informed
decisions by looking for new insights and extracting value from the data the business possesses (i.e. business value of analytics).

Business Drivers are:


1) increase data value within the organization;
2) reduce complexity;
3) mitigate data related risk, ensure compliance
4) promote enterprise analytics as a service
Outline
• Current state
• Achieve end state of predictive analysis
• Governance in place
• Identify people to work in team
• Talk to departments on what problems to solve (data analytics
related)
• Outcomes expected
• Issue tenders, procurement
Current State
• Ad-hoc rudimentary data analytics in different business units
• No enterprise-wide initiative or program for data analytics
Challenges
• Unclear value of data & information assets
• Lack of funding
• Lack of appropriate and skilled resources
• Lack of understanding the data & information problems and issues
(data quality, Master Data management etc.)
• Lack of skills (business and technical) required for data & information
analytics
• Ad-hoc or poorly managed data analytics in departments
Why?
• Many organizations neglect their data, keep everything forever, and
find ad-hoc solutions when it comes to information management,
governance, and risk.

• To change this situation, CxOs and other information management


(IM) leaders must work to change people's attitude to data and
information, and its relevance to business outcomes.
Recommendations
• Assign responsibility for data & information management to an
appropriate cross-departmental group/team

• Develop and implement a data & information analytics framework
