Introduction
Lets just start by imagining that you woke up tomorrow morning and found that you
belonged to another culture, another ethnic group, or some other dimension of diversity.
Think about the areas in which your life may be affected. For example:
The foods you prefer
The religion you practice
The music you enjoy
The language(s) you speak
The clothing you wear

changed and Would you be satisfied to be this new person ?
What is diversity and Why we are so different from each other ?
Each of us is born into a culture. Our beliefs begin with those of our family, but they
continue to be shaped by all of our experiences after birth.
For the most part, family attitudes, beliefs, languages, and other behaviours are accepted
without a question and due to difference in thinking and mindsets of different people
diversity arises.
What is Diversity Awareness?
Diversity means that people are
different from one to another in
many ways.
Diversity awareness is
acknowledging ,understanding
and appreciating these
differences and developing a
workplace that enhances their
values.

Conclusion
Diversity is a fact of contemporary life in any organisation and it has become an important
issue for management . Managing diversity means promoting inclusion, creating an
environment where all differences are valued and generally break the barriers.
It has become one of the most important business tools in almost every industry. Though
generally regarded as a good thing for a workplace, diversity poses significant challenges
for company leaders.
