IT INVESTMENT BY APOLLO
The growing IT budget at Apollo constitutes around 4.5 per cent of its
operational expenses
Apollo Hospitals expects to save about Rs. 40 crore in 24 months by
standardizing its IT processes and procedures across 46 hospitals.
Apollo is implementing eHIS, a software used in hospital management. This
also would help reduce time, and costs.
Business Processes
(AHEL) has implemented an integrated Hospital
information system (HIS), which integrates the
various processes and functional areas.
Cost control measure as HIS also acts as a kind of
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Tool for the
hospital.
Automation of various back-end areas like financial,
accounting and inventory, have been achieved with
the HIS.
AHEL has also used IT to provide quality healthcare
services to patients at remote areas.
An electronic medical record system, a sophisticated
billing system that was fully automated, and also a
sophisticated medication management system at the
wards.
Labs are automated.
