1. REMOVE THE ENGINE FROM THE SHIPPING STAND
A. General
This task gives you the procedure to remove the engine from the shipping stand.

(1) Remove the engine from the shipping stand.

(a) Use one of the procedures that follow to remove the engine from the shipping stand.
1 Remove the engine from the shipping stand with the forward engine-handling
upper yoke.
a Remove the forward and aft bumper guard from the shipping stand.
c Open the engine cover at the zipper and roll the sides down along the stand
base.
e Remove the aft horizontal crossmember (5) by removing the nuts (19), the
washers (20, 21, and 22), and the bolts (23).
f Install the forward engine-handling yoke upper assembly by installing the bolts
(39) and the ball pin lock (38). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolts to
29-31 ft-lb (39.3-41.0 Nm).
g Attach a hoist, with a minimum load rating of 2000 lbs (907.18 kg), to the
engine-assembly lifting adapter (lifting adapter) and position above the
engine.
1) Attach the aft cable assembly to the aft-end of the lifting adapter (40) by
installing the ball pin locks (41).
2) Position the forward cable assembly, located on the lifting adapter, into
the forward slot of the plate.
3) Attach the forward cable assembly onto one of the inner attachment
points of the forward engine-handling upper yoke with the clevis body
and dowel pin.
h Remove the nuts (32), washers (8, 33, and 34), and the bolts (6), in the
engine mounted trunnion plates-to-forward vertical stanchions (1).
i Lift the lifting adapter with the hoist to apply tension to the cables.
j Adjust the lifting adapter so that the lifting point is located 20.22 in. (513.5 mm)
aft of the forward plate. This will align the lifting point with the engine center of
gravity (CG). Rotate the load rotor to get the necessary distance between the
forward plate and the CG.
k Remove the clevis pin (24) and cotter pin (29) from the aft stanchion (3).
l Remove the ball lock pins (25) from the aft stanchion (4).
m Remove the nuts (14), washers (15, 16, and 17), and the bolts (18), that
attach the aft vertical stanchions (3 and 4) to the stand inner rail. Remove the
stanchions out and away from the engine.
n Lift the engine slowly with the hoist. Make sure you keep the engine level.
p Move the engine to an open area and let it hang from the hoist.
a Check the security seal for signs of tampering. If you think that the security
seal has been tampered with, tell Management before you continue with the
engine removal.
b Open the engine cover at the zipper and roll the sides down along the stand
base.
d Remove the aft horizontal crossmember (5) by removing the nuts (19), the
washers (20, 21, and 22), and the bolts (23).
e Before the engine is moved, loosen the forward ground-handling bracket nuts
three turns. Use the torque wrench to torque the forward ground-handling
bracket nuts to 75-85 in-lb (8.5-9.6 Nm).
f Attach a hoist, with a minimum load rating of 2000 lbs (907.18 kg), to the
engine-assembly lifting adapter (lifting adapter) (23055299) and put above the
engine.
1) Use the ball lock pins (41) to attach the aft cable assembly (40) to the
outer bypass duct rear support.
5) Attach the forward cable assembly onto the forward engine-lift adapter
(23066522) with the clevis body and dowel pin.
8) Install a shackle (3663T42) into the forward slot of the plate. Attach the
safety strap (3383T531) to the shackle (3663T42).
g Remove the nuts (32), washers (8, 33, and 34) and the bolts (6) in the engine
mounted trunnion plates-to-forward vertical stanchions (1).
h Lift the lifting adapter (23055299) with the hoist to apply tension to the cables.
i Remove the clevis pin (24) and cotter pin (29) from the aft stanchion (3).
j Remove the ball lock pins (25) from the aft stanchion (4).
k Remove the nuts (14), washers (15, 16, and 17) and the bolts (18) that attach
the aft vertical stanchions (3 and 4) to the stand inner rail. Remove the
stanchions out and away from the engine.
l Lift the engine slowly with the hoist. Make sure you keep the engine level.
n Move the engine to an open area and let it hang from the hoist.

(2) Install the engine into the transportation stand, if necessary.

(a) Remove the engine mounted trunnion plates (2) by removing the bolts (26), and the
washers (27 and 28).
(b) While you let the engine hang from the hoist, install the lower halves of the forward
engine-handling yoke (yoke) as follows:
1 With one person holding the yoke (36), install the bolts (39) that attach the yoke to
the engine. Use the torque wrench to torque the bolts to 29-31 ft-lb (39.3-41.0
Nm).
(c) Install the maintenance dolly trunnions (42) to the outer-bypass-duct rear support by
installing the pins (43).
(e) Engage the transportation stand lockdowns and remove the lifting adapter.

(3) Put the shipping stand into storage.

(a) If necessary, the shipping stand can be broken down into a stackable and storable
configuration. Do the steps that follow:
1 Remove the nuts (11), washers (10, 12 and 13), and the bolts (9), from the
forward vertical stanchions (1).
2 Install the engine mounted trunnion plates (2) onto the vertical stanchions (1) with
the bolts (6), the washers (8, 33 and 34), and the nuts (32).
3 Install the forward vertical stanchions (1 and 2) onto the inboard vertical surface
of the stand-inner-rail horizontal crossmember.
5 Install the aft horizontal crossmember (5) on the stand inner rail.

(0) As an alternative to the minimum oil temperature limit, it is permitted to run the
engine for a minimum of 8 minutes or to complete a static run-up to 88% N2,
stabilize, and check to make sure that oil pressure is equal to or less than 83
psig. This run-up check is not recommended for aircraft with Post-SB AE
3007A-79-025 engine configurations.
(0) As an alternative to the minimum oil temperature limit, it is permitted to run the
engine for a minimum of 8 minutes before advancing the throttle lever (TL) for
takeoff.
2 Examine the engine fuel system components, including all seals, lines, fittings,
pads, splitlines and surfaces for fluid leakage. No leakage, including weeps,
seeps, or drips is permitted except as listed the following tables.

(a) Remove the nuts (32), the washers (8, 33, and 34), and the bolts (6) from the forward
vertical stanchions (1). Separate the engine mount trunnion plates (2) from the
forward vertical stanchions.
(b) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (10, 12, and 13), and the bolts (9) from the
forward vertical stanchions (1). Remove the stanchions.
(c) Remove the nuts (14), the washers (15, 16, and 17), and the bolts (18) that attach the
aft vertical stanchions to the stand inner rail (3 and 4).
(d) Remove the nuts (19), the washers (20, 21, and 22), and the bolts (23) that attach the
aft horizontal crossmember to the aft vertical stanchion.
(e) Remove the aft horizontal crossmember (5) from the aft vertical stanchions.
(g) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolts (9).
(h) Install the bolts (9), the washers (10, 12, and 13), and the nuts (11) that attach the
forward vertical stanchions (1) to the inner rail. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
(i) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolts (18).
(j) Install the bolts (18), the washers (15, 16, and 17), and the nuts (14) that attach the aft
stanchion (4) to the inner rail. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

(5) Remove the engine from the transportation stand.

stand.
1 Remove the engine from the transportation stand with the forward engine-handling
upper yoke.
a Attach a hoist, with a minimum load rating of 2000 lbs (907.18 kg), to the
engine-assembly lifting adapter (lifting adapter) and position above the
engine.
2) Position the forward cable assembly, located on the lifting adapter, into
the forward slot of the plate.
3) Attach the forward cable assembly to one of the inner attachment points
of the forward engine-handling upper yoke with the clevis body and
dowel pin.
b Install the caps, plugs, and covers on the engine (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-600-
802 ).
c Lift the lifting adapter with the hoist to apply tension to the cables.
d Adjust the lifting adapter so the lifting point is located 20.22 in. (513.5 mm) aft
of the forward plate. This will align the lifting point with the engine center of
gravity (CG). Rotate the load rotor to get the necessary distance between the
forward plate and the CG.
e Lift the engine slowly with the hoist. Make sure you keep the engine level.
f Move the engine to an open area and let it hang from the hoist.
g While you let the engine hang from the hoist, remove the lower halves of the
forward engine-handling yoke (yoke) as follows:
1) With one person holding the yoke (36), remove the bolts (39) that attach
the yoke to the engine.
2) Pull out the ball lock pin (37) and remove the yoke (36) from the engine.
2 Remove the engine from the transportation stand with the forward ground-handling
bracket.
a Before the engine is moved, loosen the forward ground-handling bracket nuts
three turns. Use the torque wrench to torque the forward ground-handling
bracket nuts to 75-85 in-lb (8.5-9.6 Nm).
b Attach a hoist, with a minimum load rating of 2000 lbs (907.18 kg), to the
engine-assembly lifting adapter (lifting adapter) (23055299) and put above
the engine.
1) Attach the aft cable assembly to the aft-end of the lifting adapter
(23055299).
5) Attach the forward cable assembly onto the forward engine-lift adapter
(23066522) with the clevis body and dowel pin.
7) Install a safety strap (3383T531) around the front frame of the engine. A
ring (3569T21) can be used to tighten the safety strap (3383T531)
around the engine.
8) Install a shackle (3663T42) into the forward slot of the plate. Attach the
safety strap (3383T531) to the shackle (3663T42).
c Install the caps, plugs, and covers on the engine (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-600-
802 ).
d Lift the lifting adapter with the hoist to apply tension to the cables.
e Lift the engine slowly with the hoist. Make sure you keep the engine level.
f Move the engine to an open area and let it hang from the hoist.

(6) Install the trunnion plates on the engine.

(a) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolts (26).

(7) Install the engine into the shipping stand.

(a) Position the engine over the shipping stand. Make sure the engine is positioned
correctly.
(b) Lower the engine into the shipping stand and align the forward and aft mounts.
(c) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolts (18).
(d) Align the aft stanchion (4) with the aft support gussets. Install the vertical ball lock pins
(25).
(e) Use the bolts (18) to install the remaining aft vertical stanchion, the washers (15, 16,
and 17), and the nuts (14). Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
(f) Align the aft stanchion (3) with the aft engine support mounts.
(g) Install the clevis pin (24) and the cotter pin (29).
(i) Install the bolts (6), washers (8, 33, and 34), and the nuts (32) in the engine mounted
trunnion plates-to-forward vertical stanchions (1). Torque the bolts to 45-50 ft-lb (61.0-
67.7 Nm).
(j) Use the torque wrench to torque the nuts (14) on the aft vertical stanchions to 45-50 ft-
lb (61.0-67.7 Nm).

(8) Remove the support equipment from the engine.

(a) Remove the aft engine-lifting adapter (23055759) from the engine by pulling the ball
lock pins (41).
(b) Remove the bolts (39) by pulling back the ball lock pin (38) and remove the forward
engine-handling yoke upper assembly (23058429), or remove the safety strap
(3383T531) and the forward cable assembly.

(9) Install the aft horizontal crossmember on the shipping stand.

(a) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolts (23).

(10) Close the engine cover on the shipping stand.

(a) Do a visual inspection of the engine (Ref. TASK 72-00-00-200-801 ).
(b) Position eight of the 16-unit bags of desiccant (MIL-D-3464) in the bottom of the
engine cover.
NOTE: Each unit bag has 16 desiccant bags inside. Use eight of
the unit bags.
NOTE: Desiccant was also installed in the inlet and exhaust during
the engine preservation procedure in step 1.H.(1).
(d) While you hold the seam together, pull the zipper closed.

(11) Install the FADECs onto the shipping stand.
(a) Before installing the FADEC containers onto the stand, make sure the container tops
are correctly attached.
(b) Put the two FADEC containers on the aft horizontal crossmember of the stand base.
(c) Install one steel band left to right and the second steel band front to back.

(12) If you need to easily move the shipping stand, then install the castering
wheels.
(a) Install the casters on the shipping stand.
2 Remove the two swivel and two stationary casters from the brackets located inside
the outer frame.
3 Attach the casters to the brackets under the stand by installing the eight ball pin
locks.
NOTE: Make sure that the two swivel casters are installed on
the same end. If you do not install the swivel casters
on the same end, you will not be able to turn the
shipping stand.

(f) Make sure there is corrosion preventative compound on the applicable bolts and studs.
(g) Remove all the tools and equipment from the work area. Make sure the work area is
clean.

1. STORE THE ENGINE IN THE SHIPPING STAND
A. General
This task gives you the procedures that you must do when you store an engine in a shipping stand.
This task must be done every 180 days. This procedure gives protection to engines that you will not
operate or motor.

(1) TASK 71-00-00-000-801 , Remove the Engine from the Shipping Stand.
(2) TASK 71-00-00-400-801 , Install the Engine into the Shipping Stand.
1 Open the engine cover (23054396 or equivalent) at the zipper and roll the sides
down along the stand base.
2 Remove the inlet cover (23055383 or equivalent) from the engine inlet.
3 Remove the exhaust cover (23055384-2 or equivalent) from the engine exhaust.
4 If necessary, remove the humidity indicator cards (MXC-56789) from the inlet
flowpath and the exhaust flowpath.
(b) Remove the desiccant bags (MIL-D-3464) from the engine cover and position the
desiccant bags (MIL-D-3464) in the inlet and the exhaust of the engine. Do not let the
desiccant material touch the metal. Use a piece of the plastic sheeting to protect the
metal.
1 If necessary, open the engine cover (23054396 or equivalent) at the zipper and
roll the sides down along the stand base.
2 If necessary, remove the inlet cover (23055383 or equivalent) from the engine
inlet.
4 Examine the engine for condensation or moist areas. If there are signs of
condensation or moist areas, then do the following:
c If necessary, remove the engine from the shipping stand (Ref. TASK 71-00-
00-000-801 ) to repair the damage.
d If the engine was removed from the shipping stand for repair, then install the
engine into the shipping stand (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-000-801 ).
(d) Motor the engine manually with a minimum of 10 turns (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-600-803
).
(e) Turn the fan a minimum of 10 turns with your hand in the clockwise direction (forward
looking aft).
(f) Install the inlet cover (23055383 or equivalent) on the engine inlet.
(g) Install the exhaust cover (23055384-2 or equivalent) on the engine exhaust.
(h) Put the engine cover (23054396 or equivalent) over the engine.
(i) While you hold the seam together, pull the zipper closed.
(j) Remove all the tools and equipment from the work area. Make sure the work area is
clean.
(k) After 180 days, if you decide to keep the engine on the shipping stand in storage,
then do TASK 72-00-00-600-801 .

(a) Install the engine rotational equipment to turn the high-pressure turbine with one of the
two procedures that follow:
c Install the 1/4-inch drive ratchet on the end of the 1/4-inch drive extension.
b Install the starter-shaft drive adapter (23052530) in the starter drive shaft.
1 If you turn the engine at the alternator shaft, then use the ratchet to turn the
alternator shaft clockwise (forward looking aft) two and one-half turns.
2 If you turn the engine at the starter drive, then use the starter-shaft drive adapter
to turn the alternator shaft clockwise (aft looking forward) two and one-half turns.
a Remove the ratchet and the 1/4-inch drive extension from the alternator shaft.
c Remove the starter-shaft drive adapter (23052530) from the starter shaft.

(2) Turn the fan rotor.
(a) Examine the gas path and remove any unwanted objects that might interfere with the
fan or low pressure turbine rotation.
(b) Use the lint-free gloves to slowly turn the fan clockwise (forward looking aft), one

clamp (30) from the cushion (32). Remove the cushion (32) from the external engine-
control B (FADEC B) harness (33).
(h) Remove the nut (37) and the bolt (40) that attach the three clamps (36, 38, and 39).
Remove the two clamps (16) from the FADEC A harness (18). Remove the clamp (17)
from the EIS harness (13).
(i) Remove the bolt (41) that attaches the clamp (43) to the bracket (44). Remove the
clamp (43) from the cushion (42). Remove the cushion (42) from the FADEC B
harness (33) and the EIS harness (7).
(j) Remove the bolt (47) that attaches the clamp (48) to the bracket (45). Remove the
clamp (48) from the cushion (46). Remove the cushion (46) from the FADEC B
harness (33) and the EIS harness (7).
(k) Remove the N1 sensor (2) from the front-frame mounting port located at the two
o'clock position (aft facing forward) (Ref. TASK 77-11-15-000-801 ).
(l) Remove the fan-speed-sensor hole plug (plug) (62) from the front-frame mounting port
located at the 10 o'clock position (aft facing forward).
1 Remove the two nuts (64) and the two washers (63) that attach the plug (62) to the
front frame mounting port.
3 Remove the two O-rings (60 and 61) from the plug (62). Discard the O-rings.
(m) Install the plug (62) in the front-frame mounting port located at the two o'clock
position (aft facing forward).
1 Use engine oil (MIL-PRF-23699) to lubricate the two new O-rings (60 and 61).
2 Install the two O-rings (60 and 61) on the plug (62) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-806
).
4 Install the two washers (63) and the two nuts (64) that attach the plug (62) to the
front-frame mounting port. Use the torque wrench to torque the nuts to 37-42 in-lb
(4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(n) Install the N1 sensor (2) in the front-frame mounting port located at the 10 o'clock
position (aft facing forward) (Ref. TASK 77-11-15-400-801 ).
(o) Connect the FADEC B harness connector (75) on the N1 sensor (1) located at the 12
o'clock position.
(p) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (47).
(r) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (41).
(s) Install the EIS harness (7) in the cushion (42). Install the cushion (42) in the clamp
(43). Install the bolt (41) that attaches the clamp (43) to the bracket (44). Use the
torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-
910-801 ).
(t) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (77).
(u) Install the FADEC B harness (33) and the EIS harness (7) in the cushion (78). Install
the cushion (78) in the clamp (80). Install the bolt (77) and the nut (79) on the clamp
(80). Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref.
TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(v) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (82).
(w) Install the two clamps (81 and 83) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (82)
that attaches the two clamps (81 and 83) to the bracket (84). Use the torque wrench
to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(x) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (31).
(y) Install the FADEC B harness (33) in the cushion (32). Install the cushion (32) in the
clamp (30). Install the bolt (31) that attaches the clamp (30) to the bracket (34). Use
the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-
910-801 ).
(z) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (26).
(aa) Install the nut (28) that attaches the bracket (25) on the N1 sensor (1) located at the
12 o'clock position. Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7
Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ). Install the clamp (27) on the EIS harness (7).
Install the nut (29) and the bolt (26) that attach the clamp (27) to the bracket (25).
Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-
00-00-910-801 ).
(ab) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (12).
(ad) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (15).
(ae) Install the clamp (16) on the EIS harness (7). Install the bolt (15) that attaches the
clamp (16) to the bracket (14). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-
lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(af) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (6).
(ag) Install the clamp (5) on the EIS harness (7). Install the bolt (6) that attaches the

(i) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (103).
(j) Install the clamp (100) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (103) that
attaches the clamp (108) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(k) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (104).
(l) Install the clamp (107) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (104) that
attaches the clamp (107) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(m) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (105).
(n) Install the clamp (106) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (105) that
attaches the clamp (106) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(o) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (130).
(p) Install the two clamps (128 and 129) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt
(130) and the nut (131) that attach the two clamps (128 and 129). Use the torque
wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(q) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (135).
(r) Install the two clamps (133 and 134) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt
(135) and the nut (132) that attach the two clamps (133 and 134). Use the torque
wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(s) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (136).

(e) Install the access cover with the bleed port adapter (150) on the outer-bypass duct
assembly (140) at the three o'clock position (aft looking forward) (Ref. TASK 72-73-
20-400-801 ).
(f) Install the coverplate (146) on the access cover with the bleed port adapter (150).
3 Attach the coverplate (146) to the aft opening of the access cover with the bleed
port adapter (150) with the four bolts (147).

1. CHANGE THE ENGINE CONFIGURATION FROM LEFT-HAND TO RIGHT-HAND
A. General
This task gives you the procedure to change the engine from a left-hand engine configuration to a
right-hand engine configuration.
Hexavalent chromium deposits can be encountered on engine parts when doing the procedures in this
task. Refer to Rolls-Royce NTO AE 3007A-126 for information.

(b) Remove the bolt (15) that attaches the clamp (16) to the bracket (14). Remove the
clamp (16) from the EIS harness (7).
(c) Remove the bolt (12) that attaches the clamp (11) to the bracket (13). Remove the
clamp (11) from the EIS harness (7).
(d) Disconnect the external engine-control B (FADEC B) harness connector (75) from
the N1 sensor (1) located at the 12 o'clock position (aft facing forward).
(e) Remove the nut (29) and the bolt (26) that attach the clamp (27) to the bracket (25).
Remove the clamp (26) from the EIS harness (7). Remove the nut (28) that attaches
the bracket (25) to the N1 sensor (1) located at the 12 o'clock position (aft facing
forward).
(f) Remove the bolt (31) that attaches the clamp (30) to the bracket (34). Remove the
clamp (30) from the cushion (32). Remove the cushion (32) from the FADEC B
harness (33).
(g) Remove the bolt (82) that attaches the two clamps (81 and 83) to the bracket (84).
Remove the two clamps (81 and 83) from the FADEC B harness (33).
(h) Remove the nut (79) and the bolt (77) from the clamp (80). Remove the cushion (78)
from the clamp (80). Remove the cushion (78) from the FADEC B harness (33) and
the EIS harness (7).
(i) Remove the bolt (41) that attaches the clamp (43) to the bracket (44). Remove the
clamp (43) from the cushion (42). Remove the cushion (42) from the EIS harness (7).
(j) Remove the bolt (47) that attaches the two clamps (48 and 76) to the bracket (45).
Remove the clamp (76) from the external engine-control A (FADEC A) harness (35).
Remove the clamp (48) from the cushion (46). Remove the the cushion (46) from the
FADEC A harness (35) and the EIS harness (7).
(k) Remove the N1 sensor (2) from the front frame mounting port located at the 10 o'clock
position (aft facing forward) (Ref. TASK 77-11-15-000-801 ).
(l) Remove the fan-speed-sensor hole plug (plug) (62) from the front-frame mounting port
located at the 10 o'clock position (aft facing forward).
1 Remove the two nuts (64) and the two washers (63) that attach the plug (62) to the
front-frame mounting port.
3 Remove the two O-rings (60 and 61) from the plug (62). Discard the O-rings.
(m) Install the plug (62) in the front-frame mounting port located at the 10 o'clock position
(aft facing forward).
1 Use engine oil (MIL-PRF-23699) to lubricate the two new O-rings (60 and 61).
2 Install the two O-rings (60 and 61) on the plug (62) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-806
).
4 Install the two washers (63) and the two nuts (64) that attach the plug (62) to the
front-frame mounting port. Use the torque wrench to torque the nuts to 37-42 in-lb
(4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(n) Install the N1 sensor (2) in the front-frame mounting port located at the two o'clock
position (aft facing forward) (Ref. TASK 77-11-15-400-801 ).
(o) Connect the FADEC A harness connector (3) on the N1 sensor (1) located at the 12
o'clock position (aft facing forward).
(p) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (47).
(r) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (41).
(s) Install the FADEC B harness (33) and the EIS harness (7) in the cushion (42). Install
the cushion (42) in the clamp (43). Install the bolt (41) that attaches the clamp (43) to
the bracket (44). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm)
(Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(t) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (40).
(u) Install the clamp (38) on the EIS harness (7). Install the two clamps (36 and 39) on
the FADEC A harness (35). Install the nut (37) and the bolt (40) that attach the three
clamps (36, 38, and 39). Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-
4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(v) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (31).
(w) Install the FADEC B harness (33) in the cushion (32). Install the cushion (32) in the
clamp (30). Install the bolt (31) that attaches the clamp (30) to the bracket (34). Use
the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-
910-801 ).
(x) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (26).
(y) Install the nut (28) that attaches the bracket (25) on the N1 sensor (1) located at the
12 o'clock position (aft facing forward). Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-
42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ). Install the clamp (27) on the
EIS harness (7). Install the nut (29) and the bolt (26) that attach the clamp (27) to the
bracket (25). Use the torque wrench to torque the nut to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm)
(Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(z) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (15).
(aa) Install the clamp (16) on the EIS harness (7). Install the bolt (15) that attaches the
clamp (16) to the bracket (14). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-
lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(ab) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (12).
(ad) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (9).
(ae) Install the clamp (10) on the EIS harness (7). Install the bolt (9) that attaches the
clamp (10) to the bracket (8). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb
(4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(af) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (6).
(ag) Install the clamp (5) on the EIS harness (7). Install the bolt (6) that attaches the
clamp (5) to the bracket (4). Use the torque wrench to torque the bolt to 37-42 in-lb
(4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).

(k) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (103).
(l) Install the clamp (100) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (103) that
attaches the clamp (108) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(m) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (104).
(n) Install the clamp (107) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (104) that
attaches the clamp (107) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(o) Apply antiseize compound (NSN-165) to the threads of the bolt (105).
(p) Install the clamp (106) on the FADEC B harness (33). Install the bolt (105) that
attaches the clamp (106) to the access cover (109). Use the torque wrench to torque
the bolt to 37-42 in-lb (4.2-4.7 Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).

with the bleed port adapter (150).
1 Remove the four bolts (147) that attach the coverplate (146) to the access cover
with the bleed port adapter (150).
2 Remove the coverplate (146) from the access cover with the bleed port adapter
(150).
3 Remove and discard the O-ring (145) from the coverplate (146).
(d) Remove the outer-bypass duct bleed-port adapter (bleed port adapter) (148) from the
access cover with the bleed port adapter (150).
1 Remove the four bolts (147) that attach the bleed port adapter (148) to the access
cover with the bleed port adapter (150).
2 Remove the bleed port adapter (148) from the access cover with the bleed port
adapter (150).
3 Remove and discard the O-ring (149) from the bleed port adapter (148).
(e) Install the access cover with the bleed port adapter (150) on the outer-bypass duct
assembly (140) at the nine o'clock position (aft looking forward) (Ref. TASK 72-73-
20-400-801 ).
3 Attach the coverplate (146) to the aft opening of the access cover with the bleed
port adapter (150) with the four bolts (147).

a Use the torque wrench to torque the four bolts (147) to 30-34 in-lb (3.4-3.8
Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
POST-SB AE 3007A-72-365
a Use the torque wrench to torque the four bolts (147) to 40-44 in-lb (4.5-5.0
Nm) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-801 ).
(g) Install the bleed port adapter (148) on the access cover with the bleed port adapter
(150).
3 Attach the bleed port adapter (148) to the forward opening of the access cover
with the bleed port adapter (150) with the four bolts (147).

a Use the torque wrench to torque the four bolts (147) to 40-44 in-lb (4.5-5.0

(i) Remove all the tools and equipment from the work area. Make sure the work area is
clean.

a The engine model shows the engine hardware and software configurations
and is set by the personnel who operate the engine. An example of an engine
model would be an AE 3007A1.
1 Use the Class C method to put a mark with the thrust rating at a height of 0.094 in.
(2.39 mm) in the thrust rating box (17) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-808 ). Use the
Table 2 that follows to find the applicable thrust rating.
1 Use the Class C method to put a mark with the serial number at a height of 0.094
in. (2.39 mm) in the serial number box (18) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-808 ).
1 Use the Class C method to put a mark with the word COMPLY at a height of 0.094
in. (2.39 mm) in the exhaust emissions box (19) (Ref. TASK 70-00-00-910-808 ).

(1) Do the engine runs and flights to get the data for the FADEC lane
change pro forma.
Table 1
(a) Make a copy of the FADEC Lane Change Pro Forma Data Sheet ( Table 1 ).
(b) Do four engine runs and make four flights, one after the other.
(c) Record the data on the FADEC Lane Change Pro Forma Data Sheet ( Table 1 ) for
each flight.
(d) Make sure that there is complete data from four flights. The data must be collected
from four flights, one after the other.
