4 GENERAL PRESCRIPTIONS
In the context of designing new works or restoring existing ones, in line with the
In line with current legislation, the implementation of separate networks must be provided for until
to discharge into the existing sewer system even if it is mixed. In case it is
technically possible to connect the networks subject to design to both mixed collectors and to
separate collectors, their connection to the respective piping of the separate networks will need to be provided for
existing.
In the event that urban planning interventions are planned for areas served by a mixed sewage network, they
must be aimed at the separation of wastewater and the construction of drainage systems of type
separate.
In all cases of connecting planned sewage networks to the existing sewage system (networks and plants
black or mixed waters), if from a verification downstream of the discharge point it should be found the
need to adapt the system itself, the applicant for the connection must take care of
relative charges.
In all cases, systems aimed at the collection of rainwater for reuse should be prioritized.
for use other than for drinking water consumption.
The drainage of rainwater runoff from surfaces not susceptible to being
significantly contaminate (building coverings, impermeable/semi-permeable areas not
subject to no specific use/activity or excluded from the scope of the D.G.R.
286/2005), must be chosen based on the following preferred order:
separate sewer network (white network) in areas directly served by this service.
In the event of a hydraulic check of the existing sewer system (network and facilities) downstream
if the need to adjust the system itself should become apparent from the entry point, the
the applicant for the connection must bear the related costs. Alternatively, they may
to allow the discharge in a manner that limits the maximum instantaneous flow
drainable into the sewer at a value that is compatible with the hydraulic efficiency of the
valley network;
soil or in the surface layers of the subsoil, where possible in relation to the characteristics of the
soil
in the hydrographic network, in compliance with any provisions to safeguard against possible risks
plumbers from the competent authorities.
The discharge of stormwater into a combined sewer will be permitted only in cases where it does not result
feasible, from a technical and economic perspective, their discharge into nearby surface water bodies
to the settlements of origin.
In such a case, if a hydraulic check of the existing sewer system downstream of the
entry point should the need for system adjustment arise, the applicant
The connection shall bear the related costs.
Alternatively, it may be allowed to discharge in a manner that limits the maximum flow rate.
instantaneous conveyable into the sewer at a value that is compatible with the hydraulic officiousness of the
valley network.
5 DIMENSIONING CRITERIA
The speed relative to the average black flows should normally not be less than 50 cm/s. When

The power supply cables of the electric pumps must not have joints and must not be
connected to junction boxes inside the tub and must be pulled and properly
fixed to the walls of the tub itself. The electrical panel must be placed in a convenient area and
accessible, preferably protected from the weather.
The plant will be equipped with an electrical system and remote control to be designed as required by
technical specifications to be requested from the Manager.
14 SCOLMATORI
If urban planning interventions are planned in areas served by a mixed sewer network, they
they must be aimed at the separation of waste and the construction of a sewage system of type
separate.
The drainage system must ensure the discharge of dry weather flows to the sewerage system.
exceeding discharges into the white water network. The sizing of the overflow threshold of the spillways
will have to ensure a minimum dilution degree of activation of the spillway equal to 5 (five) times the
average black flow.
The drain must be equipped with an inspection chamber.
The drains should generally be of the frontal type with interception of the effluents to be sent to the
purification in lateral derivation from the main flow (Figure 11).
The diversion of the same effluents must be carried out through a curvature with a minimum radius equal to 3 times the
diameter of the pipeline to the treatment plant.
In all cases, the pressure drops must be minimized by avoiding backflows, sharp edges, and reductions.
of the section.
If the construction of the overflow threshold involves a reduction of the useful section of the duct
mainly, the maximum height of the threshold and therefore of the derivation duct cannot be
above 1/3 of the height of the main duct (Figure 11, scheme 2).
The nominal diameter of the effluent discharge pipe to the treatment plant must not be less than
200 mm.
If necessary for achieving the correct degree of dilution and to avoid sections
reduced, it will be necessary to install, in the inspection well located immediately downstream of the overflow and
on the delivery of effluents to the treatment plant, a steel section regulation gate
stainless steel with endless screw (Figure 12).
As for what is not specified, please see the guidelines for the inspection chambers.
