Beak
(in yellow yarn)
To make the beak you will insert your hook into the 3 different stitches in between the eyes.
Insert your hook into the the right stitch and slst then make a sc into the same stitch.

Insert your hook into the the middle stitch and make an increase.

Insert your hook into the the left stitch and make a sc then slst into the same stitch and FO.

Finally, it’s time to make the flower-shaped hat. This piece is made in two parts. First, you’ll
crochet the petals, which also form the base or “stem” area of the flower. After round 5, the
upper structure of the flower begins to take shape and creates a lovely, summery look.

Flower Hat

(start in green)
R1: 4 sc in mr (4)
R2-3: sc around (2 rounds) (4)

R11-12: sc around (2 rounds) (28)
R13: (hdc, dc inc, hdc, slst) repeat 7 times (35) FO and weave in ends.

Once the hat is complete, you’ll need to either sew or tie it onto the duck’s head. The
designer came up with a smart and simple solution: using pink yarn to tie the hat gently
under the duck’s chin.

Flower Hat Cont.

Insert a long piece of yarn in the color of your flower into both sides of the hat and tie a bow.
