Abstract

use in asphalt paving mixtures. The aggregates will consist of pieces
durable strong hard, free from consistent coatings. They will take samples for
the test, and they will adjust to the physical requirements such as apparent density, composition
both conventional and open mixes friction courses graded, polishing the characteristics, the
solidity and the behavior of degradation.

Scope
1.1 This specification covers crushed stone, crushed hydraulic cement concrete,
crushed blast furnace slag, crushed gravel, expanded slate powder, expanded clay
crushed, and the expanded crushed slate suitable for use in bituminous mixtures of
paving, as described in Specifications D 3515 or D 4215.
Note 1-Other slags that have demonstrated a satisfactory service record may
to be used.
1.2 The values indicated in SI units or in inch-pound units should be considered
like the standards. The values indicated in each system may not be exactly
equivalents; Therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. The
combination of values from the two systems may result in a non-compliance with the
norm.
1.3 The text of this standard cites notes and footnotes that provide explanatory material. These
