Hebrews

THEME:
The theme of Hebrews is the absolute supremacy and efficacy of JESUS CHRIST as
revealer and as a mediator of God's Grace.
Essentially, readers are saying that there may or may not be a return, or continuation in
the old Jewish system, which has been overseen by the only priest of CHRIST.
The people of God must now look to Jesus, whose atonement, resurrection, and ascension have
open the path within the truth, celestial sanctuary of the presence of GOD.
Resisting all temptation to abandon the fight, believers must persevere in the
spiritual dispute for which they must face judgment as they did the
rebellious generations of Israelites in the desert.
AUTHOR:
The book has commonly been called the "EPISTLE of PAUL to the HEBREWS."
Since the Reformation, it has been recognized that PAUL was probably not the author. There is no
discordia entre la enseñanza de HEBREOS y aquellas cartas de PABLO, pero el énfasis
specific and writing styles are markedly different.
Contrary to Paul's usual practice, the author of HEBREWS here identifies himself
same in the letter, I accept to indicate that he was a man. (11:32)
A possible author would be BARNABAS.
He finds himself with the claim that the writer is influenced by the early church and that
he is based on the Old Testament. BARNABAS was a Jew from the priestly tribe of
LEVI (Acts 4:36). He was a close friend of PAUL.
The other possible author is APOLLO, who is favored by many. APOLLO, an Alexandrian
by nature was also a Jew, a Christian with notable intellectual abilities and
oratories (Acts 18:24). We also know that APOLLO was associated with Paul
in the primitive years of the church. (1 Corinthians 12, 3:4-6, 22)
DEED DATA:
This book was written before the destruction of JERUSALEM (70 A.D) because:
If it had been written after this day, the writer would surely have mentioned
the destruction of the temple and the end of the Jewish sacrifice system.
The author constantly uses the Greek in the present tense when talking about the temple and the
priestly activities connected with him.

WHO WAS THIS LETTER WRITTEN TO?

The letter was primarily addressed to the converted Jews who were familiar with the
Old Testament to those who were tempted to convert to Judaism or Judaize.
gospel. (Galatians 2:14) It has also been suggested that the possible recipients of this
letter there were a large number of priests who became obedient to the Faith

Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father.

The superiority of Jesus is documented by seven quotes, showing that He is:

2:1-4 THE DANGER OF SLIPPING.

The consequence is critical in this small statement in parentheses which includes the
verses 1-4 (Therefore, it is necessary that we pay more attention to the things
what we have heard, lest we drift away.

If Jesus Christ is all of that, clearly established in this letter, then it is essential for
we embrace the gospel.

Here is why we must pay more careful attention.

2- The reason for the AUTHORITY of the message 2:2-3a

2:5-13 JESUS OUR PIONEER

Jesus is not only our prophet, priest, king, the son of GOD, he is also
our pioneer, liberator and apostle.
The idea of pioneer comes from the phrase "the author of our salvation" 2:10. A "pioneer" that
opens the way and uncovers the path for those who follow it in FAITH. The word
It is used (ARCHEGOS) and the Greek version of the Old Testament was quite common.
which had been well known to the writer of Hebrews. It was used at times in
the secular Greek literature to describe the head of a clan, a hero, a founder of a
school of thoughts or the particular course of action. Christ has "opened the way of the
glory for many children of God” in at least three different paths:
1- The pioneer of humanity. (2:6-9) Jesus opened this exclusive way, this unique route to the
glory, because he knows every step of the way from personal experience. This work
Salvation could not have been possible entrusted to the angels (2:16-17).
2- The pioneering mission (2:10). Christ did not come merely to share our humanity, but to
transform it over the account of our sins, man is not crowned, he is
corrupted.
Creation is not subject to him; he is subject to it, dominated by its immense power and
under his supreme control. Christ's mission was the way of hope for his people.
3- The pioneering feat (2:11-13). Almost all believers are moving day by day towards
A future destiny as children of glory, something is happening to us in the present.

feats for us), setting aside the service and the creation sanctified by God.

2:14-18 JESUS, OUR LIBERATOR

He should be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become merciful
and faithful high priest in relation to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people
These verses develop the theme of Christ's identification with our humanity.
for the job description of liberation for humanity.
Liberation is an urgent necessity (2:15-17)
2- Liberation is a done deal (2:14)
3- Liberation is a continuous process (2:18)

3:1-6 JESUS, OUR APOSTLE

Here is another consequence based on everything that has been said so far, we
we must set our thoughts on Jesus, who is the Apostle and high priest to
who we recognize.
The work of Christ and ourselves. "Fix our thoughts on Jesus in these
directions;
a- Human Jesus, the only one who was tested and who suffered.
b- The divine apostle. Sent by God, messenger or ambassador sent by the FATHER.
c- The high priest. Later he is manifested as the effective and merciful and faithful.
priest (2:17) but here he is a priest of 'our confession' (3:1)
If these tempted and provoked believers are to maintain their spiritual confidence and
commitment to Christ in a hostile environment, then they must consider and set their
views on Christ. They will not be successful in any way.

The work of Christ and Moses. "He was the one who called him, just as Moses was faithful to the house.
of God.
Moses was a temporary servant, while Jesus is the eternal son.
b- Moses was a witness, testifying to the things that would manifest later, the
better and complete salvation that was to come, while Jesus is the revelation itself
(1:1-3)
Moses was a faithful steward in the house, but Jesus was the owner of the house.
Moses could only be a part or a portion of the house, while Jesus was
constructor.
Moses loved God, but Jesus is God.
The deduction is simple, to abandon the path of Christ for the path of Moses, it is
go from the largest to the smallest.
It is to abandon permanence in favor of the temporary.

3- The work of Christ and God. The theme of this section is the supremacy of Jesus, which
it was indeed underlined in the first verses of this book in the chapters.
The call was strong and simple:
Fix your thoughts on Jesus.
Consider your relationship with God through Jesus.
Consider your relationship with Jesus and God also as yourself in the present and
Moses in the past.

FIRMES EN JESÚS NUESTRO SUMO SACERDOTE Hebreos 3:7-5:10

The main idea of this section of the writing is very clear. The author has been
manifesting the superiority of JESUS over Moses, but he has done abundantly
clear and evident to these Christians in the exaltation of JESUS, he has not the slightest desire
to degrade Moses.

Moses was faithful, but unfortunately Moses' faithfulness was not typical of the
Israelites. They were unfaithful and they did not allow the rest to enter the promised land.

1-The word of GOD from the past, a serious warning
(3:7-11)
To remind you, this letter is intended for the topic of apostasy.
Yes, some of the believers were in danger of returning and renouncing.
These believers are remembered as Israel's fatal mistake in the desert.
God requires His people to exercise persistent faithfulness.
He is talking to them so that they trust in his power not only to
to change them, but also to keep them.
They must "follow" (6:1)

3) Obey the word. Obedience is a key idea in this letter.
4) Share the word.

3-The word of GOD for the future: a reliable promise (4:1-13)

Rest is not limited to ancient Israel.
The true rest promised by GOD has not been promised yet, it belongs to
future.
Once GOD has completed his work as creator, he began his rest, and he longs
lately all his people to enter into that rest.
It is God's rich talent for the faithful and obedient pilgrim at the end of their days when the
he fulfills his task as GOD from Himself.
Christian e-Pilgrims, in the contemporary world, must realize that in the light of
A passage like this will not make one confess a simple obedient appearance to CHRIST AND HIS
TRUTH or pay an optional praise in meetings and services to the faith in CHRIST.
Our commitment must be sincere and genuine and can be for two reasons:
1) If GOD has spoken so clearly to His people, then it is a mistake to assume that the
a man does not take a word like this seriously.
2) Not only has GOD spoken, but the very natural demands of GOD to
our commitment. (4:13)

4:14-5:10 JESUS, IS OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST.

OK, now we have to manifest the word of GOD to man to

who and what is He, and the nature of God as He is, in His omniscient wisdom, all
is willing to open the spotlight to its rigorous examination.
The person so revealed is exposed in their sin and in their weakness. What can they do?
about their guilt? As soon as a person needs help, that help is
found in the present, minister intercessor JESUS CHRIST.

There are four fundamentals about the High Priest in these verses: (4:14)
Jesus is our victorious high priest (4:14)
As a result, we have a great High Priest who has gone through the
heavens.
This 'mission' of JESUS as High Priest has been completed by CHRIST, accepted
for GOD and effective among men.
c-JESUS has ascended triumphantly and is eternally glorified.
d-JESUS has been exalted!
a) JESUS is a great High Priest, surpassing all those who have come before.

b) JESUS is a human High Priest identified by his human name,
CHRIST, who is in heaven and who understands us and knows our trials.
c) JESUS is a unique High Priest, He is the Son of GOD. His deity, also
As in real humanity, it is a central theme of this epistle.

Another priest could not have achieved victory over sin, death, and the
devil.
f) JESUS is our victorious High Priest.

#2 JESUS is our Compassionate High Priest (4:15-513)

This letter suggests that we come into the presence of GOD who welcomes us and
a CHRIST who understands us.
b-Compassionate Priests were:
Called by GOD (5:1)
Gentle treatment of those who are ignorant (5:2)
3) Aware of their own needs (5:2)
4) Although HE (the Compassionate High Priest) was tempted to pronounce a harsh judgment, to put
intolerable burden, or making excessive demands on other people, He should remember
who was also exposed, day after day, to the same randomness. His risks were also the
yours. 5) JESUS certainly did not need to offer a sacrifice for his own sins
as the priests of the Old Testament did, but because HE went through
so much trash and hostile temptation, HE could more effectively encounter our
deep spiritual needs.

#3 JESÚS, nuestro Sumiso Sumo Sacerdote (5:4-8)

a-JESUS was called by GOD. Jesus did not consider his equality with GOD to be
understood, but clearly came into this world and takes the form of a servant
you (Philippians: 6-7)
b-JESUS depended on GOD
He poured himself out to God, who was able to save him.
2) But was he saved from death? No.
Was JESUS' prayer unanswered? No, it was answered when GOD gave him the
strength and peace in the cross.

c- The respect of JESUS for GOD

It was because of his own deep fear and respect for his Father that his prayer was heard.
still thought about not giving his immediate physical release.
In this tremendous scene, JESUS is more readily able to sympathize with his people.
when they are confused even when they pray.
In these terrifying moments, JESUS did not resist the sovereign purpose of GOD!
The obedience of JESUS to GOD.
And although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered...
2) Never in any way did he seek to benefit himself.
His dominant ambition was to obey, serve, and glorify his FATHER.

# 4 JESUS, an effective High Priest (5:9-10)

To be effective, speak six qualifications:

a) He must be cited by GOD (5:5)
b) The necessary identification with humanity (2:17)
He needed to be sensitive to human need (2:18)
He must be victorious over sin (4:15)
He must be obedient (4:15)
He was pleased to die for the salvation of man from sin.

The seventh rating was:

He would be exalted victorious at the right hand of GOD, when HE was crowned with
Glory and Honor (2:9)
h) The obedient Son saves those who respond to his redemptive message with
hearts and obedient minds.
completely fit, He is clearly designated, "appointed by GOD" for the whole
humanity as the High Priest of our complete, adequate, and eternally
appropriate salvation!

HEBREWS
IN ALL DIFFICULTIES, GOD'S PROMISES ARE SURE
(Hebrews 5:11-6:20)

The author of this letter has a great pastoral interest in people. Physically He is at the
the same distance from them and a long way to them, (13:23), but spiritually He is so
close to them as it can be.

Our author, through the HOLY SPIRIT is directed to reflect on the incapacity
Hebrews to benefit from the solid food of the depth of Christian teaching.
So he digresses to discuss something closely related in the confrontation of
spiritual problems of some of its readers.
In this study of these verses we will discover that we are considering themes that
they have an extraordinarily modern proclamation about them.

5:11-6:8 PASTORAL PROBLEMS

1 The problem of ignorance (5:11-14)
The author claims that there is ignorance (half deaf)
Directed ignorance towards ineffectiveness.
Spiritual ignorance results in negligence (5:13-14)

Leads to immaturity. First, we must establish ourselves in the
elementary doctrine of CHRIST and then acquire a taste for more solid food from others
aspects of Christian teaching.

a) Regret for actions that lead to death.
b) Fe en Dios.
c) Baptisms or washings.
d) Laying on of hands.
e) Resurrection of the dead.
Final judgment.
It has been observed by some scholars that these six elementary doctrines can be
parallels in Judaism

4- The problem of apostasy (6:4-8) There are clear suggestions at this point and of another
in that letter, spiritual ignorance and spiritual immaturity have led to serious

They have received the transforming light of GOD and have been illuminated (2 Corinthians

They had received the gift of their enriched provision (Psalms 34:8)

They had received the gift of their incomparable word, having savored the

3-GOD IS RELIABLE (6:16-20)

The trustworthy nature of GOD
the reliable SON of GOD

There are some very important lessons for ministers, pastors, and Christian workers.
they must learn from this passage of scripture:
We must be generous in our encouragement. We must be careful not to
neglect the ministry of encouraging others, and for others.
#2 We must be balanced in our preaching and teaching. Some Minister or Pastor
who regularly preaches or teaches at the same congregation, needs to ensure that he
declares the total counsel of GOD.
#3 We must be examples in our living. The advisable behavior is possibly the
more eloquent exposition of our faith.
HEBREWS 5
JESUS IS SUPERIOR, II
Hebreos 7:1-28

7:1-28 The Superior Priesthood of JESUS

When all is said and done, the main reason for this chapter rests that with
Melchizedek is the emphasis of the superiority of JESUS CHRIST over the priesthood.
Aaronic. JESUS is not only superior to the angels and to Moses, to Aaron and to
priesthood which has traditionally been imposed since the Tribe of Levi.

The key to the phrase who is: Jesus is "a priest forever in the order of"
Melchizedek
1-E1 status of Melchizedek (7:1)
He was a priest and so is CHRIST. The present ministry of JESUS of intercession is not
mentioned here only in representation, also Paul and John (Romans 8:34)
1 John 2:1-23

2-The authority of Melchizedek (7:1)

He was a king and so is CHRIST (Chapter 1 of Hebrews) Our GOD with a double title of
priest and king are highly appropriate because as king, he is just and as priest he
he justifies everyone who believes in his atoning sacrifice. (Romans 3:26; 5:8-9)

3-21 name of Melchizedek (7:2)

He is righteousness and peace and so is CHRIST (Romans 1:17; 5:1:18-19)

4-Melchizedek the only (7:3)

The "Priest-King" (Melchizedek) is in this sense eternal and like the Son of
GOD, who continues a priesthood forever. It is not JESUS who is similar to
Melchizedek, but Melchizedek who is like the Lord JESUS, Melchizedek is the
shadow and CHRIST the 'reality'.

The superiority of Melchizedek (7:4-10) Abraham was certainly a key in Judaism,

the father of a race, but for all his greatness, he offered his titles and received a
blessing from the "priest-king" and says our author; the inferior is blessed by him
The Superiority of JESUS is recognized in his resurrection.

7:20-28
In this passage, some of the directed ideas of this letter are guaranteed together and exposed.
with persuasive and attractive conviction. Some of the readers had begun to
to seriously ask if they had the right to abandon all their history and past in
the Old Testament when they became Christians. Here they are assured.
JESUS is a 'better hope' (7:19)
The covenant of JESUS is much better (8:6)
Aquí está porque este pacto es mucho mejor.
1-The reason for his oath (7:20-21)
2-The reason for their support (7:22) This word 'support' for the most part of
commitment same that something will be, but here the ascended CHRIST, testifies that something is: the
trust is not simply in the future but in the present even when it is seen
hidden.
3-The reason for his priesthood (7:23:28) We are led to the priestly office of
CHRIST and his superiority over the Jewish priesthood. Considering the work and the person
in these verses:
His permanent achievement (7:23-24)
b-His unlimited power (7:25 a)
c-Su ministry present(7:25b)
His immaculate character (7:26)
He is the perfect sacrifice (7:27-28)
Among the many real applications in these verses, there are two that should have
special emphasis:

We trust in the word of GOD (Isaiah 40:8, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17)
We take ownership of the work of CHRIST. Here is the most wonderful thing about the book.
of Hebrews: many times, we see that cross, once and for all, JESUS negotiated
with the triple problem of man: sin, death, and the devil. We are
saved. But it is not simply a question of our spiritual past. Salvation
In this letter, there is also an immediate and constantly renewed experience.
(Romans 8:24; Ephesians 2:5; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians:18;

(II Corinthians 2:15)

WE MUST RENEW OUR TRUST IN HIM, KNOWING THAT

HE WILL NEVER FAIL.

8:1-5 THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY

The priestly work of Jesus is effectively known and confirmed in heaven, the system
The priestly Jew was concerned about four major themes:
The priesthood itself
The sanctuary
The pact
The sacrifice

The priests ministered to GOD in an earthly tabernacle. It was occupied by the

time and space.
The priesthood of CHRIST is superior, because HE ministers in the sanctuary, the true one.
tabernacle exalted by GOD, not by man (Hebrews 8:2)
The earthly store was only a copy of the heavenly one.
The main thing is, time and again, the person and work of CHRIST.
There are three impressions of particular interest:

Who is he?
"He" is that CHRIST who is now our exalted and triumphant Lord, "who sat down to
the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens

#2 What does it do?

Aside from being exalted Son of GOD, seated on the eternal throne at the right hand of
God, He is the only one who serves in the sanctuary (Hebrews 8:2)
It is here that JESUS serves as our minister.

#3 How does it work?

JESUS is the minister of his people, who offers for his people?

In the act of sacrifice, he offers himself and has paid for our forgiveness.
In the fact of the 'SANCTUARY', our forgiveness was announced on earth, but its
effects continue towards the sure Kingdom of Heaven.
Here is a clear word for any Christian in disobedience or despair,
We must feel broken, distressed, dazed, or weakened, but
our eternal salvation has never depended on our changes of ways or
circumstances. CHRIST has entered the heavenly sanctuary, once for all. He offered his
blood for us.
There He has suffered and now He is praying for us. We are always remembered in that.

This is our confidence. Our faith is not based on who we are or what
we have done, but still and always in that He is the Perfect SON of God and what He has
made through his perfect and eternal sacrifice.
8:6-9:14 THE BEST COVENANT

The idea of Covenant is rooted in all Jewish religious thought.

Because the matter of God's Love for the people, the main and total pact is more
carefully developed in this section of the writing.

FIRST
THE PACT AND ITS PROMISE: 816-13

But... JESUS (8:6) These words introduce the protest of a relationship of the King
completely different. Something dramatically new has happened in JESUS CHRIST,

¿Por qué este nuevo pacto es necesario?La gente sabía que un nuevo orden de pacto
was coming. (considering the quote from the new covenant of Jeremiah in full and not satisfied
with that, consideration is cited in part against. 3:5-12:10:16-17)

The messianic pact was certainly inadequate and the temporary nature of its purpose.
It is not hidden. Still, the writer of Hebrews does not need his readers to judge the
Christianity as a completely new religion is an essential realization of the
promise of the Old Testament (Old Covenant). The Lord JESUS is the director and
only the fulfillment of all sacrifices, ceremonies, and priesthood of the first
covenant or 'Old Testament'.
Here is why a New Covenant was necessary:

1-The old covenant was imperfect (8:7)

It is important to note that the writer is not meaning that the moral law of GOD has been
abolished in the commandments is still relevant (Matthew 5:17-19: Romans 7:7-12)
In fact, the Higher Law is still awaited by the believers.
What is being meant here are those old ceremonial laws of
Judaism about sacrifices, purifications, and how they have all been supervised by
CHRIST.

The old covenant was ineffective. The old covenant could only indicate the way towards
go ahead: I could not provide the man with the power to satisfy his demands.
The Old Covenant was meant to disclose something much greater. The ancient Law was, however, a
direct hit to the man. The new covenant supplied the power to make the journey.

3- The Old Covenant was imperfect (8:13)

The new covenant which Jeremiah prophesied has come in abundance in JESUS and in his
work for us.
The New Covenant is CONCILIATORY (8:8)
The New Covenant is INTERIOR (8:10b)
The New Covenant is UNIVERSAL (8:11e)
The New Covenant is GENEROUS (8:12)
The New Covenant is SURE (Consider the 'I')
SECOND
THE PACT AND ITS NEED (9:1-10)

Although the Old Covenant is a vanished shadow, the author does not dismiss it.
hurriedly, casually or dismissively.
He recognizes some of his former GLORY even when he is explaining its partial value.

The author of Hebrews has an apparent desire to explain the gospel compared to the
the foundation of the law, the New Covenant is the light of the Old, its entire state contrasted with
the sure blessing present.
In this text, the author mentions three limitations of the first pact:
There was a benefit of RESTRICTED ACCESS (9:6-7)
In Jesus, everyone could enter into the Presence of GOD. There was no restriction (10:19-20)
2-There was a benefit of PARTIAL CLEANING (9:9) The New Covenant offered broad and
complete interior.
3-There was a benefit of LIMITED FORGIVENESS (9:9-10)
The New Covenant would not only forgive the external sins that have purpose.
determined rebellion, but also those of the heart. It would be complete and total. This is
the wavering message of a better expectation, of a new pact and an eternal
redemption.

THIRD
THE PACT AND ITS EFFECT (9:11:14)

A CALL FOR CONSTANT HOPE

HEBREWS #8
A CALL FOR THE CONSTANT HOPE OF THE PEOPLE OF FAITH
Hebreos 10:19-11:40

10:19-39 A CALL FOR CONSTANT HOPE

I urge you, brothers,

sending this letter, it is a word of exhortation (13:22) written outside of a sense of
profound pastoral importance. From this characteristic trait in this letter, the author
build on the rich doctrinal teaching of the first chapters, pressing the interior
by exhortation, encouragement, example, and warning.

In order to appropriate these blessings, we must ENTER INTO: (10:19-22)

We must enter with confidence 10:19

We must enter with gratitude 10:20-21
We must enter with sincerity 10:22

To appropriate these blessings, we must hold on without straying: 10:23-25

Hold on to your natural confession 10:23
b-Continuous stimulus 10:24-25a
c-Remember the spiritual word 10:25b

THREE To appropriate these blessings we must stay close: 10:26-35

A warning - remember those who bring us down 10:26-31

b-A stimulus-remember those who endure 10:32-38

FOUR To appropriate these blessings, we must move forward:

10:36-39

In this section of the writing, there are two important lessons to remember:
A-We must remember that there is a delay in the return of CHRIST. The civilization of the day
emphasizes the importance of the Immediate and the priority of the possible. according to this
The present era is that you have NOW that problem, promises are devalued.
But the believer rejects being drowned by this restrictive, perspective, and coming dominion.
He/She lovingly believes in Jesus, even though he/she has never seen Jesus (1 Peter 1:8)
2 Corinthians 4:18) The believer looks to GOD who cannot be seen, urges towards the distant
city, even when it is not visible on the immediate horizon (Hebrews 11:27,10)

We must also remember that it is a society obsessed with more and more in terms of
of possessions, the Christian rejoices that he/she has in CHRIST, the spiritual treasure
which can never be removed.
11:1-16 F E:ES SIGNIFICANT AND PROTAGONIST

This great chapter is well known and loved, especially by believers. Sometimes
is used alone and out of context of the book of Hebrews, which is correct. It gives a lot
more comfort and it has changed so much that it can stay alone

Pero la fuerza real del capítulo 11, está en la conexión del contexto de los versículos previos
In chapter 10. This 'Chapter of FAITH is a vigorous exposition that means having Faith and
get life!

1-THE DEFINITION OF FAITH (11:1-3)

The word of God accepts Faith (11:1) the response of man is Faith for what GOD
He said, take seriously the message of the true revelation of GOD in the Holy Ones.
Escrituras. La fe no concuerda simplemente con la palabra de Dios, sin embargo los hechos
it refers to them..

Faith anticipates the future, it does not place trust in that which is not simply visible to
our physical view

It is the security of the expected things.

Faith evaluates the present. The people of Faith do not simply look at their circumstances,
they discern the activity of the invisible God (11:27) in their current situation and are capable
to endure.

B-La FE gains approval (11:12)

C-The FAITH recognizes the power of GOD(11-3) Only by faith can we accept the
amazing statement of what is seen was not made of what was visible 'The incomparable
the power of God is like that HE can call the universe to be created when it is not
there is nothing from which it can be formed. He stated that it simply existed,
and once he said it, it was done.

II- THREE GENERATIONS OF MEN (11:4-7)

Abel recognized his obligations before GOD (11:4) Abel offered a pure heart as
well like the best donation. Cain could not overcome the powerful tyrant, sin, which
He was knocking at his door (Genesis 4:1-7) JESUS testified to the pure heart of Abel and
John to the sinful desires of Cain (Matthew 23:35; 1 John 3:12)
Enoch maintained his walk with God (11:5-6)
All of life remains in GOD and our honesty must extend to all
life. Those who possess true faith walk with GOD day after day.
c-Noah gave his obedience to GOD (11:7) Noah is a splendid example of the believer who
definition in the first verses of this chapter:
Noah accepted the word of GOD
Noah gained the approval of GOD
Noah recognized the power of GOD in judgment and salvation.
Noah was eager to hear what God was saying and ready to do what He told him.
ordered.
5) GOD said it, so Noah did it.
6) Jesus himself emphasized the need for obedient response (Matthew 7:28-27), and
Everyone who walks through Faith recognizes its importance.
An interesting note: when Noah built the ark, he did not just achieve approval.
of God, also the act of making a fool of oneself in front of men.

3- ABRAHAM AND HIS FAMILY (11:8-12)

Noah's example of attentive obedience is followed by a detailed account of the

obedience shown by the main man of Faith: Abraham.
Abraham not only holds a place in Scripture as the father of the Jewish race,
given also the position of 'the Father of all who have Faith' (Hebrews 2:15)
Here Abraham and Sarah are introduced to exemplify five different aspects of FAITH.
An obedient FAITH 11:8b
2-A sacrificing FAITH 11:3a
3-A brave FA 11:8c
4-A persistent FA 11:9b
5-A dependent FA 11:11-12

4- CATEGORIES OF FAITH (12:13-16)

We took a short race while we moved from the testimonies.

from the writing to the end, five spiritual categories manifested in the lives of those
personalities of the Old Testament:
THE CONFIDENCE of those testimonies (11:13)
2-THE TESTIMONY of that nation (11:13d)
3-Your Journey of Faith (11:16)
4-Your incredible DISCERNMENT (11:16)
5-Your SECURITY (11:16b)

The vision and heroism of these great patriarchal figures have some lessons.
important for us and for our much more sophisticated and less society
contained. The description of those heroes of Faith changed our cowardly nature and
reassess our materialism.

These foreigners and strangers (11:13) have something to tell us, their clear proof is a
change for our guilty silence. Christians have the responsibility to remember to
people, attractive but directly that there is a life beyond this and that after the
death comes judgment (9:27)
This 'hero speaks to us about our lifestyle as Christians,
Those who know that the next world is a better one do not waste their opportunity.
limited in this life by greedily grabbing for the next material acquisition. The
believers look at the city beyond and its lasting joy.

HEBREWS #9
A FAITH THAT PERSEVERES
Hebreos 12:1-29

At this point in the story, the author shifts from the heroes of the Old Testament to the
suffering and achievement of the greatest of all, JESUS CHRIST THE LORD. For the necessary
quality of continuation and patience we need to look to CHRIST who does not
he/she only provides a perfect example, he/she also provided necessary help (2:18;4:16)

12:1-11 STIMULUS FOR A PERSEVERING FAITH

We are encouraged to reject sin (12:1a)

We are encouraged to run with patience (12:1b)
We are encouraged to set our eyes on JESUS (12:2-3)
We are encouraged to remember the word of God (12:5-6)
We are encouraged to remember the care of God (12:7-9)
6-we are encouraged to remember the purpose of GOD (12:10-11)

To remember God's purpose in the immediate (12:10)

b-Remember the purpose of GOD as the ultimate outcome (12:11a)
c-Remember the purpose of GOD in the enduring effect (12:11b).

12:12-17 EXHORTATION FOR PERSEVERING FAITH

In this section of Hebrews, we are urged to actively pursue all

spiritual truths and ideals. Before we saw the Christian life as a race
vigorous. Now we see it as a difficult journey. What is required here is not
a sudden burst of energy, but rather a constant and persistent effort. That is because
These exhortations are given for a persevering FAITH!

1-We are exhorted by a discouraging result 12-12

2-We are urged to maintain harmony 12:14
We are encouraged to pursue holiness 12:14b
4-We are urged to seek grace 12:15a
5-We are urged to prevent profanation 12:15b-17

12:18-29 MOTIVATION FOR A PERSEVERING FAITH

Our author now comes for his final 'contrasted description' Mount Sinai and Mount
session, giving the imposing nature of the law and the proclamation of the joyful gospel.
The Old Testament is here represented in magical contrast. Considering these
other "contrasted descriptions" in Hebrews

We are motivated because we belong to an eternal kingdom (12:22-24)
We are motivated because we belong to an unshakeable kingdom (12:25-29)

All of this leads to greater responsibilities.

HEBREWS #10
A FINAL CHALLENGER
Hebreos 13:1:25

This last chapter comes as a sudden intrusion, because our author changes to
this seemingly disconnected series of moral exhortations? Because all these
themes have immediate relevance, whether one was lived at that time or they are
lived now. These topics do not always admit problems of generation or period of
time.
When a believer is indifferent to these 'pastoral exhortations', they are with such
that have hardly understood the primitive teaching of the letter, but this book
complete has a deep social and moral content. These exhortations cannot be
considered ignored as a spiritual message more. In the teaching of these
Christian verses are expected to be loved, pure, satisfied, pure, satisfied.
faithful, daring and venerable!
