HEBREWS
HEBREWS
THEME:
The theme of Hebrews is the absolute supremacy and efficacy of JESUS CHRIST as
revealer and as a mediator of God's Grace.
Essentially, readers are saying that there may or may not be a return, or continuation in
the old Jewish system, which has been overseen by the only priest of CHRIST.
The people of God must now look to Jesus, whose atonement, resurrection, and ascension have
open the path within the truth, celestial sanctuary of the presence of GOD.
Resisting all temptation to abandon the fight, believers must persevere in the
spiritual dispute for which they must face judgment as they did the
rebellious generations of Israelites in the desert.
AUTHOR:
The book has commonly been called the "EPISTLE of PAUL to the HEBREWS."
Since the Reformation, it has been recognized that PAUL was probably not the author. There is no
discordia entre la enseñanza de HEBREOS y aquellas cartas de PABLO, pero el énfasis
specific and writing styles are markedly different.
Contrary to Paul's usual practice, the author of HEBREWS here identifies himself
same in the letter, I accept to indicate that he was a man. (11:32)
A possible author would be BARNABAS.
He finds himself with the claim that the writer is influenced by the early church and that
he is based on the Old Testament. BARNABAS was a Jew from the priestly tribe of
LEVI (Acts 4:36). He was a close friend of PAUL.
The other possible author is APOLLO, who is favored by many. APOLLO, an Alexandrian
by nature was also a Jew, a Christian with notable intellectual abilities and
oratories (Acts 18:24). We also know that APOLLO was associated with Paul
in the primitive years of the church. (1 Corinthians 12, 3:4-6, 22)
DEED DATA:
This book was written before the destruction of JERUSALEM (70 A.D) because:
If it had been written after this day, the writer would surely have mentioned
the destruction of the temple and the end of the Jewish sacrifice system.
The author constantly uses the Greek in the present tense when talking about the temple and the
priestly activities connected with him.

PORTRAITS OF JESUS
Hebreos 2:1-3:6
If Jesus Christ is all of that, clearly established in this letter, then it is essential for
we embrace the gospel.
He should be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become merciful
and faithful high priest in relation to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people
These verses develop the theme of Christ's identification with our humanity.
for the job description of liberation for humanity.
Liberation is an urgent necessity (2:15-17)
2- Liberation is a done deal (2:14)
3- Liberation is a continuous process (2:18)
Here is another consequence based on everything that has been said so far, we
we must set our thoughts on Jesus, who is the Apostle and high priest to
who we recognize.
The work of Christ and ourselves. "Fix our thoughts on Jesus in these
directions;
a- Human Jesus, the only one who was tested and who suffered.
b- The divine apostle. Sent by God, messenger or ambassador sent by the FATHER.
c- The high priest. Later he is manifested as the effective and merciful and faithful.
priest (2:17) but here he is a priest of 'our confession' (3:1)
If these tempted and provoked believers are to maintain their spiritual confidence and
commitment to Christ in a hostile environment, then they must consider and set their
views on Christ. They will not be successful in any way.
The work of Christ and Moses. "He was the one who called him, just as Moses was faithful to the house.
of God.
Moses was a temporary servant, while Jesus is the eternal son.
b- Moses was a witness, testifying to the things that would manifest later, the
better and complete salvation that was to come, while Jesus is the revelation itself
(1:1-3)
Moses was a faithful steward in the house, but Jesus was the owner of the house.
Moses could only be a part or a portion of the house, while Jesus was
constructor.
Moses loved God, but Jesus is God.
The deduction is simple, to abandon the path of Christ for the path of Moses, it is
go from the largest to the smallest.
It is to abandon permanence in favor of the temporary.
3- The work of Christ and God. The theme of this section is the supremacy of Jesus, which
it was indeed underlined in the first verses of this book in the chapters.
The call was strong and simple:
Fix your thoughts on Jesus.
Consider your relationship with God through Jesus.
Consider your relationship with Jesus and God also as yourself in the present and
Moses in the past.
Lessons to apply.

FIRMES EN JESÚS NUESTRO SUMO SACERDOTE Hebreos 3:7-5:10
The main idea of this section of the writing is very clear. The author has been
manifesting the superiority of JESUS over Moses, but he has done abundantly
clear and evident to these Christians in the exaltation of JESUS, he has not the slightest desire
to degrade Moses.
Moses was faithful, but unfortunately Moses' faithfulness was not typical of the
Israelites. They were unfaithful and they did not allow the rest to enter the promised land.
custom of the desert journey as a parable or type of Christian pilgrimage and

Many of the writers of the New Testament wrote and observed the Christian life.

Undoubtedly memorable must be followed by continuous faithful and loyal obedience.
There are four fundamentals about the High Priest in these verses: (4:14)
Jesus is our victorious high priest (4:14)
As a result, we have a great High Priest who has gone through the
heavens.
This 'mission' of JESUS as High Priest has been completed by CHRIST, accepted
for GOD and effective among men.
c-JESUS has ascended triumphantly and is eternally glorified.
d-JESUS has been exalted!
a) JESUS is a great High Priest, surpassing all those who have come before.
that he.
b) JESUS is a human High Priest identified by his human name,
CHRIST, who is in heaven and who understands us and knows our trials.
c) JESUS is a unique High Priest, He is the Son of GOD. His deity, also
As in real humanity, it is a central theme of this epistle.
Another priest could not have achieved victory over sin, death, and the
devil.
f) JESUS is our victorious High Priest.
This letter suggests that we come into the presence of GOD who welcomes us and
a CHRIST who understands us.
b-Compassionate Priests were:
Called by GOD (5:1)
Gentle treatment of those who are ignorant (5:2)
3) Aware of their own needs (5:2)
4) Although HE (the Compassionate High Priest) was tempted to pronounce a harsh judgment, to put
intolerable burden, or making excessive demands on other people, He should remember
who was also exposed, day after day, to the same randomness. His risks were also the
yours. 5) JESUS certainly did not need to offer a sacrifice for his own sins
as the priests of the Old Testament did, but because HE went through
so much trash and hostile temptation, HE could more effectively encounter our
deep spiritual needs.
He would be exalted victorious at the right hand of GOD, when HE was crowned with
Glory and Honor (2:9)
h) The obedient Son saves those who respond to his redemptive message with
hearts and obedient minds.
completely fit, He is clearly designated, "appointed by GOD" for the whole
humanity as the High Priest of our complete, adequate, and eternally
appropriate salvation!

IN ALL DIFFICULTIES, GOD'S PROMISES ARE SURE
(Hebrews 5:11-6:20)
The author of this letter has a great pastoral interest in people. Physically He is at the
the same distance from them and a long way to them, (13:23), but spiritually He is so
close to them as it can be.
Our author, through the HOLY SPIRIT is directed to reflect on the incapacity
Hebrews to benefit from the solid food of the depth of Christian teaching.
So he digresses to discuss something closely related in the confrontation of
spiritual problems of some of its readers.
In this study of these verses we will discover that we are considering themes that
they have an extraordinarily modern proclamation about them.
4- The problem of apostasy (6:4-8) There are clear suggestions at this point and of another
in that letter, spiritual ignorance and spiritual immaturity have led to serious
disasters in this church. Some believers, who made an apparently good start

It has been a "REWARDED" service
In the justice of GOD, our love is remembered.
There are some very important lessons for ministers, pastors, and Christian workers.
they must learn from this passage of scripture:
We must be generous in our encouragement. We must be careful not to
neglect the ministry of encouraging others, and for others.
#2 We must be balanced in our preaching and teaching. Some Minister or Pastor
who regularly preaches or teaches at the same congregation, needs to ensure that he
declares the total counsel of GOD.
#3 We must be examples in our living. The advisable behavior is possibly the
more eloquent exposition of our faith.

Melchizedek
1-E1 status of Melchizedek (7:1)
He was a priest and so is CHRIST. The present ministry of JESUS of intercession is not
mentioned here only in representation, also Paul and John (Romans 8:34)
1 John 2:1-23
7:20-28
In this passage, some of the directed ideas of this letter are guaranteed together and exposed.
with persuasive and attractive conviction. Some of the readers had begun to
to seriously ask if they had the right to abandon all their history and past in
the Old Testament when they became Christians. Here they are assured.
JESUS is a 'better hope' (7:19)
The covenant of JESUS is much better (8:6)
Aquí está porque este pacto es mucho mejor.
1-The reason for his oath (7:20-21)
2-The reason for their support (7:22) This word 'support' for the most part of
commitment same that something will be, but here the ascended CHRIST, testifies that something is: the
trust is not simply in the future but in the present even when it is seen
hidden.
3-The reason for his priesthood (7:23:28) We are led to the priestly office of
CHRIST and his superiority over the Jewish priesthood. Considering the work and the person
in these verses:
His permanent achievement (7:23-24)
b-His unlimited power (7:25 a)
c-Su ministry present(7:25b)
His immaculate character (7:26)
He is the perfect sacrifice (7:27-28)
Among the many real applications in these verses, there are two that should have
special emphasis:
We trust in the word of GOD (Isaiah 40:8, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17)
We take ownership of the work of CHRIST. Here is the most wonderful thing about the book.
of Hebrews: many times, we see that cross, once and for all, JESUS negotiated
with the triple problem of man: sin, death, and the devil. We are
saved. But it is not simply a question of our spiritual past. Salvation
In this letter, there is also an immediate and constantly renewed experience.

In the act of sacrifice, he offers himself and has paid for our forgiveness.
In the fact of the 'SANCTUARY', our forgiveness was announced on earth, but its
effects continue towards the sure Kingdom of Heaven.
Here is a clear word for any Christian in disobedience or despair,
We must feel broken, distressed, dazed, or weakened, but
our eternal salvation has never depended on our changes of ways or
circumstances. CHRIST has entered the heavenly sanctuary, once for all. He offered his
blood for us.
There He has suffered and now He is praying for us. We are always remembered in that.

This is our confidence. Our faith is not based on who we are or what
we have done, but still and always in that He is the Perfect SON of God and what He has
made through his perfect and eternal sacrifice.

THE PACT AND ITS PROMISE: 816-13

was coming. (considering the quote from the new covenant of Jeremiah in full and not satisfied
with that, consideration is cited in part against. 3:5-12:10:16-17)
The messianic pact was certainly inadequate and the temporary nature of its purpose.
It is not hidden. Still, the writer of Hebrews does not need his readers to judge the
Christianity as a completely new religion is an essential realization of the
promise of the Old Testament (Old Covenant). The Lord JESUS is the director and
only the fulfillment of all sacrifices, ceremonies, and priesthood of the first
covenant or 'Old Testament'.
Here is why a New Covenant was necessary:
The old covenant was ineffective. The old covenant could only indicate the way towards
go ahead: I could not provide the man with the power to satisfy his demands.
The Old Covenant was meant to disclose something much greater. The ancient Law was, however, a
direct hit to the man. The new covenant supplied the power to make the journey.
Although the Old Covenant is a vanished shadow, the author does not dismiss it.

He recognizes some of his former GLORY even when he is explaining its partial value.
The author of Hebrews has an apparent desire to explain the gospel compared to the
the foundation of the law, the New Covenant is the light of the Old, its entire state contrasted with
the sure blessing present.
In this text, the author mentions three limitations of the first pact:
There was a benefit of RESTRICTED ACCESS (9:6-7)
In Jesus, everyone could enter into the Presence of GOD. There was no restriction (10:19-20)
2-There was a benefit of PARTIAL CLEANING (9:9) The New Covenant offered broad and
complete interior.
3-There was a benefit of LIMITED FORGIVENESS (9:9-10)
The New Covenant would not only forgive the external sins that have purpose.
determined rebellion, but also those of the heart. It would be complete and total. This is
the wavering message of a better expectation, of a new pact and an eternal
redemption.
THIRD
THE PACT AND ITS EFFECT (9:11:14)
Our writer now transports us from the frustration caused by limited effectiveness
the ceremonial laws for "the good things that are to come" (9:11)

The new covenant PURIFIES OUR CONSCIENCE (9:14b)
The new covenant SANCTIFIES OUR SERVICE

JESUS IS OUR CONFIDENCE
Hebreos 9:15-10:18
Actually, we come for the end of the five main topics presented in
this central section of the book:
1-The work of JESUS as High Priest 7:1-28
2-The work of JESUS in the Celestial Sanctuary 8:1-5
3-The Beginning of a New Covenant 8:6-9:14
4-The Inheritance, which comes for the believers 3:15-22 And now, #5 The Perfect Sacrifice of
JESÚS 9:23-10:18
FIRST Speaks of a DIVINE PURPOSE for his sacrifice 9:23-24
In this section of the writing, there are two important lessons to remember:
A-We must remember that there is a delay in the return of CHRIST. The civilization of the day
emphasizes the importance of the Immediate and the priority of the possible. according to this
The present era is that you have NOW that problem, promises are devalued.
But the believer rejects being drowned by this restrictive, perspective, and coming dominion.
He/She lovingly believes in Jesus, even though he/she has never seen Jesus (1 Peter 1:8)
2 Corinthians 4:18) The believer looks to GOD who cannot be seen, urges towards the distant
city, even when it is not visible on the immediate horizon (Hebrews 11:27,10)
We must also remember that it is a society obsessed with more and more in terms of
of possessions, the Christian rejoices that he/she has in CHRIST, the spiritual treasure
which can never be removed.

This great chapter is well known and loved, especially by believers. Sometimes
is used alone and out of context of the book of Hebrews, which is correct. It gives a lot
more comfort and it has changed so much that it can stay alone
Pero la fuerza real del capítulo 11, está en la conexión del contexto de los versículos previos

reassess our materialism.
These foreigners and strangers (11:13) have something to tell us, their clear proof is a

believers look at the city beyond and its lasting joy.
At this point in the story, the author shifts from the heroes of the Old Testament to the
suffering and achievement of the greatest of all, JESUS CHRIST THE LORD. For the necessary
quality of continuation and patience we need to look to CHRIST who does not

Our author now comes for his final 'contrasted description' Mount Sinai and Mount

this seemingly disconnected series of moral exhortations? Because all these
themes have immediate relevance, whether one was lived at that time or they are

time.
When a believer is indifferent to these 'pastoral exhortations', they are with such
that have hardly understood the primitive teaching of the letter, but this book
complete has a deep social and moral content. These exhortations cannot be
considered ignored as a spiritual message more. In the teaching of these
Christian verses are expected to be loved, pure, satisfied, pure, satisfied.
