Marcelo Spinola School Project in English IV School Year 2012-2013 First Quarter: Narratives 1. Project: Personal Journal Writing Material/s: Formal theme Description: This is an individual project. In this project, the students are expected to write their insights of a particular theme not less than 200 words, guided by the conventional criteria.

2. Project: Role Play Material/s: Props Description: This is a group project. The students will be divided into five groups. Each of the group will be assigned to different situational events. They have to come up with a script to be reflected through a drama. Second Quarter: Drama 1. Project: Monologue (Written) Material/s: 1 whole sheet of paper Description: This is an individual project. The students are going to write their unforgettable experience through a monologue. The students must express their ideas and emotions appropriately and must demonstrate an ability to write a short scene or play.

2. Project: Monologue (Performance) Material/s: Props Description: This is an individual project. The teacher will prepare 5 different monologues of equal length and the students will pick their monologue piece through draw lots. The students must memorize their monologues and present it in front of the class with appropriate emotion and characterization.

Third Quarter: Poetry 1. Project: Song Presentation Material/s: Any Musical Instruments Description: This is a collaborative project. The class will be divided into groups of three members. Each of the members of the group must collaborate in composing a poem of their own choice of theme, incorporating the elements of a poem and following the discussed conventions. They will then use their poem to come up with a song and present it in front of the class.

Project: Letter to Parents (Christmas Card) Material/s: Art Materials Description: This is an individual project. The students must make a Christmas card containing a love letter for their parents. They should incorporate the use of the different figures of speech in their writing.

Fourth Quarter: Essay 1. Project: Impromptu Material/s: Strip of questions Description: This is an individual project. There will be twenty different questions prepared by the teacher. Students will be called one by one alphabetically to pick a question and will be given five minutes to prepare. Five minutes is allotted for the delivery of their speech. 2. Project: Essay Writing Workshop Material/s: Writing paraphernalia Description: This is an individual project. Students will write an essay containing their stand on K-12 program of the Department of education. The essay must be composed of the three important parts, following the conventions of writing an essay.
