Blackberry Sheep

Blackberry sheep is a baa-rilliantly quick project to use up scraps of


yarn. You could also make her into a brooch or a key ring.

The useful stuff…

One size
To fit adult palm

Materials: Cream DK yarn, small amount of colourful 4-ply or DK yarn, toy filling, two small black beads, black
sewing thread
Note: if this sheep is intended for a child it would be better to embroider the eyes using black 4-ply yarn
or embroidery thread

Needles: 3mm knitting needles

Notions: Darning needle

Tension: Not important as you will be using smaller needles than you normally would with the yarn

Techniques: Cast on (which ever method you prefer), working in the round, decreasing, afterthought thumb

Abbreviations:

DK Double knit SS Stocking stitch


in inc(es) st/s stitch/es
K knit tbl through the back of the loop
P purl tog together
psso pass slipped stitch over WS wrong side
sl slip

Tail, body and head: Using sock yarn cast on 3 sts and knit every row until
