Purpose: To address parent-related concerns on student learning, behaviour, attendance, and
parental involvement through counselling sessions.

Branch SHANKAR NAGAR – Summary Report

Overview

Counselling sessions at shankar nagar focused on parents who reported challenges in


understanding and managing their child’s learning and behaviour. A few cases also
involved lack of parental attention, poor involvement, and non-attendance in PTMs.Parents
were guided on the importance of consistent communication, emotional support, and structured
home routines to strengthen the child’s academic progress.

Key Observations

●​ Some parents displayed limited understanding of their child’s learning needs,


especially in reading and conceptual comprehension.​

●​ A few children showed hyperactivity, poor listening, or attention difficulties, often


linked to inconsistent parental supervision.​

●​ Non-attendance in PTMs was a recurring issue, reflecting weak school–home


coordination.​

●​ Parents were educated about their role in maintaining routine, promoting engagement,
and reinforcing classroom learning at home.​

Counsellor’s Action

●​ Educated parents on the importance of home reinforcement, daily reading, and


communication with teachers.​
●​ Emphasized positive reinforcement strategies to manage attention and behavioural
issues.​

●​ For cases of non-attendance in PTM, explained its importance and encouraged flexibility
in meeting timings.​

●​ Addressed emotional challenges for single parents and provided support strategies to
balance home and school communication.​

Overall Parent Response

Parents were open and cooperative. Several acknowledged their lack of involvement and agreed
to take corrective actions.​
There was a positive shift in attitude, with most showing readiness to implement the suggested
strategies.

Branch Rajendra nagar – Summary Report

Overview

Counselling sessions at Rajendra nagar focused mainly on attendance concerns, irregular


school participation, and parenting style issues.​
Some cases also highlighted behavioural and developmental concerns requiring further
observation and support.

Key Observations

●​ A few children were irregular to school due to parental negligence or over-leniency.​

●​ Instances of over-pampering were observed, leading to naughtiness, aggression, and


overconfidence in children.​

●​ Some parents were unaware of the impact of absenteeism and delayed school
attendance on their child’s academic and social development.​

●​ Behavioral and communication concerns were discussed, including children showing


withdrawal, speech delay, or difficulty following classroom norms.​
Counsellor’s Action

●​ Educated parents about the importance of regular attendance and discipline.​

●​ Discussed how parental attitudes directly affect the child’s motivation and
self-regulation.​

●​ Guided parents on setting consistent boundaries, limiting over-pampering, and using


positive behavioural correction methods.​

●​ In cases of developmental concerns, parents were advised to seek screening and


diagnostic evaluation.​

Overall Parent Response

Parents responded positively and acknowledged the importance of their role in the child’s
development.​
Several agreed to improve attendance, communication with teachers, and consistency in
parenting approaches.
