THE PAPER PRESENTATION
Eligibility
Open for MBBS UG students, Interns and PG students in
health science courses.
Instructions
1)The participant should be an author or co author of the
paper.
2)Only original research, systematic review and meta
analysis is accepted.
3)Narrative review, case reports, case series or short
communications aren’t allowed.
4)Plagiarism of any kind is prohibited.
5)Each participant can submit only 1 abstract for each
paper and poster.
6)Participants can apply for both paper and poster
competition, provided that a different abstract is
submitted for each competition.
Note
Same abstract cannot be submitted for paper and poster.
Participant will be at risk of disqualification in this case.
Abstract Guidelines
1) Topic:
Medicine, surgery, non clinical and community subjects.
Word limit- 500
The abstract shall include:
a. Title
b. Author and Co-authors
c. Introduction
d. Aims and objectives
e. Methods and materials
f. Results
g. Conclusion
2) Format
TITLE should be written in capital.
Text should be in Times New Roman (font size: 12)
Single spacing
Word format (.doc/.docx) or PDF format (.pdf)
The name of the presenting author should be highlighted
and underlined
Rounds
a) Screening round:
Step 1: Participants should register & complete the payment
of fees on GOOGLE FORM
Step 2: Participants should upload their abstracts, IC
approval letter and payment proof in the google form
mentioned above.
b) Online Round
Top 20 selected participants will be presenting on online
platform.
Top 6 participants of the 20 will get qualified for offline round
in Seth GS Medical college.
(No online round for PGs)
Instructions pertaining to presentation
Participants should prepare a PowerPoint presentation of their
paper & present it on the day of event (online & offline)
Flow of the slides should be as follow:
a) Title slide: It should contain :
i. Abstract title
ii. Presenting author name & affiliation
Name & Affiliation of Presenting Co-Author
1. Introduction
2. Obiectives
3. Material & methods
e)Strengths & limitations of study
f) Implications & Conclusion
No. of slides should not exceed 30.
Powerpoint presentation should be in Ms office 2010 Or higher
version.
c)Offline round
Participants are required to bring 2 Copies of the submitted
abstracts. Addition of any data, to the presentation online, is
not acceptable.
Participant can get disqualified for such misconduct.
Judging criteria:
Participants will be judged by dignitaries on the basis of
a) Quality of presentation
1. Oration skills
2. Originality of research questions
3. Content of research
4. Methodology & Appropriate Use of statistics
5. Ethical considerations
6. Response to questions asked.
Time Duration
Time will be divided as such:
• Online round:
4 mins-presenting time
2 mins - Question & answer
• Offline round:
6 mins: presenting time
3 mins: Question and answer
Points will be deducted from total score if presentation time is
exceeded.
Certification will be provided to all those selected for online &
offline rounds.
