Safety Precautions

• Always hold an insulated part of the P&E cable. Do not touch the RJ45 connector with a P&E label of the P&E cable.
• Do not touch the pins inside the P&E port on the PI with your hands or a conductor.
• Ensure that the positive wire and negative wire of the PI power cable are connected correctly. Installing a circuit breaker at the negative pole on the power supply device can prevent
damage to the power cable and the device due to accidental circuit loops.
• Do not install or remove the P&E cable with power supplied.

Product Overview

1 Product Components

The RTN PI-DC A22 is an indoor power injector (PI). It uses DC power input and transmits GE electrical signals and –48 V power signals to the RTN 300 full-outdoor
microwave device through the P&E cable.

A Appearance B Port Description

The GE electrical port is compatible with the FE electrical port and supports the MDI (parallel), MDI-
Front view X (cross-connect), and auto-MDI/MDI-X modes.
The mode in which the P&E port works to transmit Ethernet service signals does not affect the pin
assignments for power signals.

2 Principles and Application Scenarios

A Principles B Application Scenarios

The RTN PI-DC A22 receives one channel of DC power signals and one channel of GE service signals. It also Device Type Version Supported or Not

provides one NMS port for the RTN device to obtain access to NMS signals.
System control board: SHXA2 Supported
The signal coupling module couples DC power signals and GE service signals into P&E signals and outputs the RTN 310 (integrated)
signals through the P&E port. System control board: SXA3 Supported
The frequencies of DC power signals and GE service signals do not interfere with each other. Therefore, these two
types of signals can be transmitted simultaneously over the same twisted pair. RTN 310 (split) Supported

The PI does not process NMS signals. It functions as a network cable that directly connects the NMS and the RTN

• The PI only couples the GE signals and power signals, without regenerating or enhancing the RTN 380H
GE signals. Therefore, the total network cable length between the UNI-side device and the
powered device cannot exceed 100 m. System control board: MXXI5 Supported
• The distance between the PI and the powered device in DC output mode and P&E output mode
varies with the power of the powered device. For details, see RTN 300 Product Description.
