Mata Pelajaran : Bahasa Inggris


Kelas/Semster : VIII/Genap
Materi Pokok : Descriptive Text
Alokasi Waktu : 2x40 menit

A. Tujuan Pembelajaran (TP)


Setelah mengikuti pembelajaran ini, peserta didik dapat:
1. Menjelaskan fungsi komunikasi dari teks deskriptif dengan benar.
2. Mengidentifikasi struktur teks deskripsi dengan benar.
3. Mengklasifikasikan bagian-bagian teks berdasarkan strukturnya dengan tepat.

B. Materi
1. Purpose: A descriptive text about a place has a purpose to describe a particular place,
e.g. a house, city, tourist, object, etc.
2. The organization
A descriptive text about a place consist of three parts, including an identification,
description, and conclusion.
 Identification: This paragraph introduces the place, including the location and other
specific information about the place.
 Description: This part describes the detailed information of the place. It may
include its parts, facilities, prices, and characteristics.
 Conclusion
This part is optional. It tells about the writer’s opinion about the place.
3. Language feature
A descriptive text usually uses the following language.
a. Focuse on a specific participant (e.g. Amankila Hotel, my house, my pet)
b. Use simple present tense ( e.g. The hotel has a nice view)
c. Use noun phrases (e.g. The hotel has a nice view)
d. Use adjectives (e.g. The hotel looks luxurious)
e. Use “be” as linking verb (e.g. The hotel’s view is nice)
f. Use preposition (e.g. I live in a small house) and prepositional phrases (e.g. My
house is not far from the train station)
g. Use there is/are (e.g. There is a train station near my house)
h. Use has/has got (e.g. my house has got a garden)
i. Use just or only (e.g. The house just/only has one bathroom)
j. Use with (e.g. The house has got a kitchen with three chairs)

C. Metode, Model, dan Pendekatan


1. Metode : Diskusi, tanya jawab, analisis teks

3. Pendekatan : Scientific Approach

D. Muwashofat
Tidak meramal nasib dengan melihat telapak tangan

E. Langkah-langkah Pembelajaran

Pendahuluan Sintak 1 (Discovery Learning): Stimulation 10 Menit
1. Guru membuka pelajaran dengan salam.
2. Guru mengecek kehadiran siswa dan bertanya kabar.
3. Guru memberikan motivasi/ice breaking.
4. Guru menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran hari ini.
5. Guru mengingatkan muwashofat.
Kegiatan Inti Sintak 2 (DL): Problem statement 10 Menit
1. Guru menampilkan gambar tempat terkenal (Taj Mahal,
Kuta Beach) dan bertanya: “Do you know this place?”
“What can you say about it?”
2. Guru menyampaikan bahwa siswa akan belajar memahami
struktur teks deskriptif.
Sintak 3 (DL): Data collection 10 memit
1. Siswa membaca contoh teks deskriptif (satu paragraf), lalu
mencermati bagian mana yang termasuk identification dan
description.
Sintak 4 (DL): Data Processing 25 menit
1. Siswa bekerja dalam kelompok untuk mengisi tabel
struktur teks berdasarkan teks yang dibaca.
Sintak 5 (DL): Verification 20 menit
1. Guru membahas hasil kerja kelompok dan memberikan
klarifikasi jika ada bagian struktur yang keliru.

Penutup Sintak 6 (DL): Generalization 5 Menit


1. Siswa bersama guru menyimpulkan fungsi dan struktur
teks deskriptif secara lisan dan tertulis.
2. Guru mengulas kembali materi yang telah dipelajari dan
memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk bertanya jika
ada bagian yang kurang dipahami.
3. Guru memberikan pertanyaan refleksi, seperti: “Do you
think that this material is useful to learn? Does it relate to
your social life?”
4. Guru menyampaikan materi yang akan dipelajari pada
pertemuan selanjutnya.
5. Guru menutup pembelajaran dengan doa.

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. It is located in Central Java,
Indonesia. This amazing temple was built in the 9th century during the Syailendra Dynasty. It
is one of the most important cultural heritage sites in Indonesia and also a UNESCO World
Heritage Site.

The temple is shaped like a giant pyramid made from grey volcanic stone. It has nine levels
with many stupas and Buddha statues on every level. When visitors reach the top, they can
enjoy a breathtaking view of the green hills and mountains around the temple. The walls are
decorated with beautiful stone carvings that tell ancient stories about the life of Buddha.

Every year, thousands of tourists from around the world come to see Borobudur. It is not only
a place for tourism, but also for religious ceremonies. During Vesak Day, many Buddhists
come to pray and celebrate at the temple. Borobudur is truly a symbol of Indonesia’s rich
history and culture.
