Technology in Teaching and Learning 2
Mathematics
Objective:
• To explore and critically evaluate mathematics-related
educational software or applications based on their
effectiveness, usability, and relevance in enhancing
teaching and learning.
• To document and present the project development process
through a comprehensive portfolio and video, highlighting
key findings, reflections, and practical demonstrations.
Group Formation:
Groups of 5 or 7 members.
Assign roles within each group
(e.g., researcher, writer, presenter, video editor,
and project manager).
Project Components/ Portfolio sections:
1. Description of the Project
Introduce the software or application you’ve chosen.
2. Explain its purpose and target audience.
Discuss why it is relevant for teaching mathematics or
language.
How to Use the App or Software (Mini Module)
* Create a step-by-step guide on how to navigate the software.
* Include screenshots or diagrams if necessary.
* Ensure it is user-friendly for educators and students.
Demonstration through Video
*Produce a short video (3-5 minutes) demonstrating the use of the app.
*Show key features, how to set it up, and how it can be integrated into
lessons.
*Ensure the video is clear and engaging.
Reflection and Improvement (Individual Contribution)
*Each member will write a reflection (300-500 words)
on their learning experience.
*Discuss what they contributed to the project, what
they learned, and areas for improvement.
Evaluation Criteria:
Content Quality (30%): Depth of research and understanding of the app.
Portfolio Organization (25%): Clarity, coherence, and professional presentation
of the portfolio.
Video Demonstration (20%): Creativity, clarity, and effectiveness of the video.
Individual Reflections (15%): Insightfulness and depth of personal reflection.
Collaboration and Teamwork (10%): Evidence of collaboration and equal
contribution among members.
