Carbon Purification Model Project

The project aims to demonstrate a carbon purification model for factories that filters harmful emissions before releasing clean air. It involves constructing a factory model with a chimney, connecting it to a carbon absorber filled with filtering materials, and showcasing the purification process. The project highlights a cost-effective method for reducing industrial carbon emissions and promotes awareness of air quality improvement.

Carbon Purification Model for Factories

Project Guide: Shubham Sir

School: Jagdish Public School

Aim: To demonstrate a working model that purifies carbon emissions from factory chimneys before
releasing clean air into the environment.

Materials Required:
Factory model (cardboard/box)
Plastic pipes (to connect chimney and absorber)
Transparent container (Carbon Absorber box)
Activated charcoal/cotton/cotton + baking soda (filter material)
Funnel (for clean air outlet)
Glue, tape, and scissors for fixing

Procedure:

1. Construct a factory model with a chimney using cardboard.

2. Connect the chimney outlet to a transparent box (Carbon Absorber) using plastic pipes.
3. Fill the absorber box with activated charcoal or cotton + baking soda to trap carbon particles.
4. Attach another pipe from the absorber box to a funnel acting as the clean air outlet.
5. Demonstrate by burning a small piece of paper inside the factory to show smoke passing through
the absorber.
6. The smoke gets filtered, and cleaner air exits from the funnel outlet.

Working Principle: The smoke from the factory passes through the carbon absorber containing
filtering material (activated charcoal/baking soda). The harmful carbon particles and impurities get
absorbed, and clean air is released, reducing pollution.

Conclusion: This project demonstrates a cost-effective way of reducing carbon emissions from
factories and spreading awareness about the importance of air purification in industries.
