Answer ALL questions.


PART A (10 x 2 = 20 marks)
1. Define probability in mathematical way.

(i) The grade points follow normal probability distribution. If a student


is chosen at random what is the probability that the grade
point is less than 50?
(i1) A sample of 4 students chosen at random and sample average grade
point is calculated. What is the probability that the sample average
grade point is less than 50?

was 9 hours per day. Find confidence interval of population average time
