Unit 13: Time Management Workshop Assignment
1. 24-Hour Chart Reflection
Is this a typical day for you?
Yes, the 24-hour chart I completed reflects a fairly typical weekday. I attend classes, do some
homework, work a part-time job, and spend a significant amount of time on my phone or
watching videos, especially in the evenings. However, weekends differ as I don’t have classes
and tend to sleep in or socialize more.
i. Too much time on social media and YouTube – I spend at least 3–4 hours daily, which
could be used more productively.
ii. Procrastination before starting homework – I delay starting assignments, which leads
to stress and late nights.
iii. Not enough sleep – I average only 5–6 hours of sleep per night, which affects my energy
and focus the next day.
2. Internet Research – Four Articles
1) “10 Time Management Tips That Work” – Forbes
2) “Study Strategies for College Success” – Princeton Review
3) “Overcoming Test Anxiety” – Psychology Today
4) “Effective Note-Taking Techniques” – MindTools
3. Tools or Ideas from the Articles
Based on my research, here are some tools and ideas that I believe will help me:
Time-blocking strategy: Creating specific time slots for studying, breaks, and relaxing
helps eliminate distractions and builds routine.
Pomodoro Technique: Working in 25-minute focus intervals followed by 5-minute
breaks helps me stay sharp and prevents burnout.
Practice testing: Doing mock exams under timed conditions can reduce test anxiety and
improve recall.
Mind mapping for note-taking: This helps me organize information visually, which
makes studying more efficient and effective.
Positive visualization: Seeing myself succeed on tests and staying calm helps shift my
mindset from fear to confidence.
4. Schedule
If my current time management and study problems were solved, my schedule would feel much
more structured and less stressful. I would wake up earlier, feeling rested from a full 7–8 hours
of sleep. I’d begin each day with a clear plan, having blocked out time for studying, breaks,
work, and relaxation. I wouldn’t procrastinate on assignments or cram last minute for exams. My
study time would be more focused, and I’d feel confident going into tests. With less time wasted
on social media, I’d have more time to enjoy hobbies or hang out with friends without feeling
guilty. I’d feel more in control of my day and my goals.
5. Five Personal Goals ("Want-to" based)
1) I choose to create and stick to a daily schedule using time-blocking.
2) I love using the Pomodoro Technique to stay focused while studying.
3) I feel confident before tests because I take practice exams and review effectively.
4) I now finish my homework before using social media or watching TV.
5) I get 7–8 hours of sleep every night and wake up feeling refreshed.
