■ Objective: To review and practice talking about daily routines using the Present Simple,
frequency adverbs, and time expressions.

■ 1. Vocabulary – Daily Routine Verbs & Expressions


get up I get up at 7 o’clock.
get dressed I get dressed after breakfast.
have a shower I have a shower in the morning.
have breakfast I have breakfast at 7:30.
go to school I go to school at 8 o’clock.
do homework I do homework in the afternoon.
study with friends I study with friends on weekends.
make a snack I make a snack after school.
tidy my room I tidy my room on Saturdays.
walk the dog I walk the dog every day.
watch TV I watch TV at night.
go home I go home at 3 o’clock.
have lunch I have lunch at school.
have dinner I have dinner with my family.
go to bed I go to bed at 10 o’clock.

■■ 2. Grammar: Present Simple


Affirmative: Subject + verb (+s for he/she/it)

I get up at 7. / She gets up at 7.


Negative: Subject + don’t / doesn’t + verb

I don’t watch TV in the morning. / He doesn’t go to bed late.

Interrogative: Do/Does + subject + verb + ...?

Do you go to school by bus? / Does she have breakfast early?

■ 3. Frequency Adverbs
always I always have breakfast.
usually I usually get up early.
often I often watch TV.
sometimes I sometimes walk the dog.
never I never go to bed late.
once a week I tidy my room once a week.
twice a month I visit my cousins twice a month.
at the weekends I study with friends at the weekends.
■ 4. Time Expressions
in the morning I have a shower in the morning.
in the afternoon I do homework in the afternoon.
at night I watch TV at night.
every day I walk the dog every day.
on weekends I play football on weekends.

■ 5. Speaking Practice – Pair Work


Ask and answer questions with your partner ■

• What time do you get up?

• When do you do your homework?

• What do you do at the weekends?

• How often do you tidy your room?

• Do you watch TV every day?

• Do you study with friends?

■ Take turns asking and answering. Write two sentences about your partner!

■ 6. Writing Task
Write 5 sentences about your daily routine using the Present Simple, adverbs of frequency, and
time expressions.

Example:
I usually get up at 7 o’clock in the morning.
I have breakfast with my family.
I go to school at 8.
In the afternoon, I do my homework and study with my friends.
I never go to bed late.
