2024 Araling Panlipunan Month Celebration
Theme: "Nurturing Informed and Globally Conscious Citizens"
Rationale:
The celebration of Araling Panlipunan (AP) Month in October 2024 aims to deepen students’
understanding of history, culture, governance, and current events. Following the Department of
Education's guidelines, this event will feature interactive and thought-provoking activities such
as debates, quiz bees, and contests for editorial writing and poster making. These events are
designed to stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and cultural awareness among students, helping
them become more informed and responsible citizens.
By engaging in these activities, students will not only expand their knowledge of Araling
Panlipunan but also develop important life skills such as public speaking, reasoning, teamwork,
and leadership. The month-long celebration is strategically organized to ensure full participation
and allow ample time for preparation.
Objectives:
To foster critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork among students.
To promote cultural awareness and understanding of global issues.
To enhance students’ knowledge in Araling Panlipunan through debates, quiz bees, and
contests.
To develop students' analytical and writing skills by encouraging engagement in editorial
writing and article-making contests.

Resources and Budget:
The activities will require the following resources:
Debates and Quiz Bee: Microphones, sound system, quiz materials, trophies/medals for
winners
Poster-Making Contest: Art materials (paper, paint, markers), prizes for winners
Editorial and Article Writing Contest: Writing materials, evaluation sheets, certificates
The estimated budget for the celebration will be drawn from available school funds and support
from stakeholders.
Expected Outcomes:
Active participation from students across all grade levels.
Enhanced critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills.
Greater understanding of the importance of cultural diversity and global awareness.
Recognition of students’ talents and skills in public speaking, writing, and creativity
through various contests.
