1. Draw a happy face and sad face on the board.
2. Say e.g I like....
3. Ask the pupils.
4. Draw a picture of a cake on the board / show a flashcard . Rub the tummy
and say I like cake . Elicit pupils as above .
Lesson delivery
5. Hold up each flashcard in turn. Say the word for pupils to say in chorus.
LEARNING OUTLINES 6. Write the word FOOD in the middle of the board and stick the flashcards
around it to make a word map .
7. Pupils look at the picture in their SB page 46.
8. Elicit who they can see.
9. Pre-teach LUNCHTIME.
10. Play the recording and pupils point to the food and the words when tey hear
them.

Pre Lesson
1. Task 7 ( BEAT THE TEACHER ) using cheese sandwich vocabulary
Lesson delivery
2. Review previous lesson by asking pupils to mime making a sandwich.
3. Ask pupils what kind of sandwich they like. Then change to pizza.
4. Find out which pupils like pizza and what toppings they like on their pizza.
Use pictures to give ideas and write the words for the food next to them on
the board.
5. Ask pupils to mime steps in making a pizza and try to elicit as much

6. Write the stages on the board as you elicit them.
7. Highlight the food words in the recipe and show pupils how to change the
recipe using different toppings.
8. Pupils work in pairs to write a new recipe for pizza with toppings of their
choice using the recipe on the board as a model. Depending on the
proficiency of your pupils you could erase some of the model.
9. Pupils mime and say their recipes to the class.

Pre-lesson
1. Review some food vocabulary as necessary using a game. This could be a
miming game, where children mime the different food from the unit.
Lesson delivery
2. Show a flashcard/picture of a food / cake and elicit/teach the word CAKE .
3. Encourage the children to mime eating cake as they like the the cake .
4. Play the song / sing the song in SB page 48 again .
5. Play the song again and encourage the pupils to sing along as much as
LEARNING OUTLINES possible.
6. Using food flashcards if necessary, elicit different food from the pupils.
7. Put pupils in groups of five. They should choose a food and create a new
version of the song, which they will act out (each pupil why do they like the
food / don’t like the food).
8. Groups should practice. Play the song again 2-3 times to help them
practise.
9. Groups perform their song to the class.
