RE: CHOIRMASTERS WORKSHOP ON 9TH – 14TH DECEMBER 2018 AT MUHOHO HIGH SCHOOL GATUNDU
Christ thy kingdom come.
This is to inform you that we have been having challenges in the singing fraternity due to shortages of choir
directors in our parishes. Many choirs have been depending on directors from the neighbouring parishes and
this have proven to be a daunting task. Since it is quite expensive to train choir directors in the existing private
institutions, the Climak Archdiocese of Nairobi has come up with a way forward in responding to this challenge.
We have continued to organize workshop for choir directors to train many more and enhancing and equipping
the existing one with more knowledge to cope with the emerging demand. In this regard every existing choir
within the Archdiocese of Nairobi including the choirs in the outstation are requested to send participants
mostly beginners. The directors who have been attending the previous workshops are also invited so that they
may continue and complete their syllabus. We will have three levels of training.
a. Beginners class (those who want to learn music) b. Intermediate Class
c. Advanced class
The charges will be Kshs 3,000/- (three thousand shillings only) this money should be paid to Catholic
Liturgical Music Association of Kenya account KCB (Kenya Commercial Bank) Ruiru Branch A/c No.
1155280172. No cash will be accepted/ received at the venue. (Come with bank receipt)
The money should be paid before 9th Dec 2018
Registration will start from 2pm – 6pm. No registration after 6pm, kindly keep time.
Every participant in this workshop will be required to bring the following items.
1. Letter from the parish priest confirming permission of attendance
2. Climak Registration card
3. A Bible
4. Syllabus for a particular grade (ABRSM) (available at the workshop Kshs 200/-)
5. Writing materials (pen, music book, rubber, pencil, manual script etc
6. Beddings (blanket and bed sheets)
7. Personal effects – tooth brush, tooth paste, towel, soap, tissue paper, torch etc)
8. Pocket money
All participants are also notified that;
a. Discipline will be strictly maintained
b. No special diets will be provided
c. There will be no moving in and out of the compound without genuine permission from the seminar
administrator
