A Med Tec

Med Tec Industry and Trade of Medical Equipment Ltd. - ME is a

company that aims to consistently provide medical products that meet the
customer requirements and that comply with applicable regulations
in the aspects of safety, quality, and effectiveness.

2. General Characteristics of the Equipment

2.1. Introduction

The Med Tec VA Master is a digital device that performs 8 acuity tests.
Alphabet Test, Functional/Child Test, Color Test, Test of
Obfuscation, Ishihara Test, Depth Test, Binocular Test and Test
of the Hunter. It has a user-friendly, highly explanatory human-machine interface that
allows for tests to be conducted easily and quickly. The tests are carried out
at a standard distance, requiring only the positioning of the eyes
next to the lenses located at the front of the equipment.
The equipment is compact, lightweight, and has high technology integrated.
with a microcontroller and internal TFT display that allow for greater agility
the fidelity of the test results.

5. Tests Conducted

5.1. Alphabet Test

Test conducted for the screening of vision pathologies for distance in people
literate, screens with letters are presented on the inside of the equipment
different sizes, taking into account the methodology applied in the standards of
optometry. The letters follow the pattern established in the Snellen chart, in the scales
from 20/20 to 20/200. Eight screens are presented on the left side in sequence
crescent and eight other different screens are presented on the right side following the
the same increasing pattern from the left.

5.2. Functional Test

Test carried out for the screening of vision pathologies for distance in non-
literate, are presented on the inside of the equipment screens with the
functional character "E" in different sizes, taking into account the
methodology applied in optometry standards. The functional character 'E' follows the
standard established in the Snellen chart, in scales from 20/20 to 20/200. Eight screens
are presented on the left side in ascending order and another eight screens
different ones are presented on the right side following the same increasing pattern of the

left.

5.3. Color Test

Test conducted for screening problems related to color vision,

color blindness. Screens with 3 colors are presented on the left and right sides
in sequence, the green, the yellow and the red.
The images are fully loaded after 1.5 seconds. Please wait the indicated time and
Ask the patient which color they identified.

5.4. Ishihara Test

It is a test conducted for the screening of color blindness; it can also be used in
evaluation of diseases affecting the optic nerve, researching the deficiency in
color vision and macular diseases (area of the retina with high concentration of
cones). Color blindness and optic nerve diseases cause confusion on the axis
green/red and the diseases acquired in the macula tend to alter the perception of
blue/yellow.
The exam consists of displaying a series of colored screens, each containing
several circles made of slightly different colors from those situated
in the vicinity. Some circles display a number that will only be visible to the
people who have normal vision.
The answer key for this test is attached to the CD 'User Manual'.

5.5. Depth Test

It is a test conducted to screen for depth perception problems.

depth perception is the ability to determine the distance of objects from
your visual field. Each eye captures an image according to its point of view and
are sent to the brain where they are fused into a single perception. Therefore,
in order to have a perception of depth, the joint work of
both eyes, thus generating binocular vision.
The test consists of displaying a series of screens, each containing two images.

The test is performed with both eyes open.

5.6. Binocular Test

The binocular vision test follows the same pattern as the alphabet test, however its
the realization is done with both eyes open.
The test consists of two similar images that are displayed on the screen.
inside the equipment, one next to the other. The purpose of this examination is to determine whether the

the patient manages to merge the two images and say which letters appear in the
display.

5.7. Jaeger Test

Test conducted for screening of near vision pathologies in people

literate, are presented on the inside of the equipment screens with letters in
different sizes, taking into account the methodology applied in the standards of
optometry. The letters follow the pattern established in the Jaeger chart, in the scales
J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, and J15. Eight screens are presented on the left side in
an increasing sequence and eight other different screens are presented on the right side
following the same increasing pattern from the left.

Note: For performing the Jaeger test, the lenses must be changed beforehand.
at the beginning of the exam, the lenses used are -1 diopter. Ensuring that the side
the concave side of the lens should face outward.

5.8. Obfuscation Test

For the execution of this test, it is necessary that the equipment is in one of
ways to follow: Alphabet Test or Functional Test.
Below are the detailed steps for the execution:

a) Choose the test for performing obfuscation (Alphabetical or Functional);

b) Select one of the scales and press the obscuring button for 3
seconds, then press the Start/Advance button;
c) Ask the patient to say what is being seen.

the test has been carried out. If the test to be performed is the test of

depth or binocular, the patient must keep both eyes

open during the procedure;
e) Continue pressing the Start/Advance button to change the images
due to the internal display loading high images
quality, the screens will be fully loaded in a maximum of 3
seconds. After this time, ask the patient what it was
identified;
f) At the end of the test, the display will indicate the change of eye. In the test of

depth or binocular will not change, as it will be carried out

with both eyes open at the same time;
g) Execute the same procedure for the other exams;
At the end of each test, 'END OF EXAM' will appear on the display.

8. Equipment Cleaning
