Articles express the personal opinions of the writer. Input for an article may be in the form of
verbal/visual input. The output may be descriptive or argumentative.

Purpose of Article Writing


An article is written to present information on a variety of themes in a long and sustained piece
of writing, namely:
• describing an event, a person, his life and actions • describing a place
• narrating an event • expressing views on some issue of social interest
• expressing arguments in favour of or against a stated hypothesis or event
Types of Articles
Magazine articles – Magazine articles may be for a school and may have a limited audience.
Newspaper articles – Newspaper articles have a wider audience.

Part I: Heading – eye-catching; encapsulating the central theme
By line – by whom the article is written
Part II: Introduction
The opening paragraph, called the introduction, is a must. It tells what the article is about •
catches attention• arouses interest • limits and controls what you plan to discuss in your article
• contains language that is clear and precise and it may even use a definition or quotation.

When we think of taking out some time to rejuvenate ourselves by detaching from the
busy schedule of life, the first word that comes to our mind is travel.

India provides a wide range of scope for visitors with varied interests. The country is
blessed with cool hill stations where one can take refuge during the hot seasons,
captivating beaches where one can relax under the coconut groves and places of worship
for multiple religions. The very vastness of the country and its heterogenous culture also
provide ample opportunities for travel enthusiasts

Tourism is a major source of revenue generation for many countries, even countries that
are much smaller and having lesser possibilities than India. There are several factors that

successful in the upkeep of our tourist destinations . Cleanliness and safety along with
connectivity with destinations within the country are major decisive factors that draw
tourists in masses. Unfortunately, we have yet to go long way in ensuring these to our
visitors.

The government should give wide publicity to the tourism scopes of the country through
tourism portals. It is also the responsibility of the authorities to ensure hassle free and
safe travel and stay within the country. Cleanliness as well as sustainability can be
ensured through active involvement of the local people, which will in turn result in
generating employment for the people involved in tourism related activities

cure, it is very important to follow a healthy life style to keep away these diseases. Good health
is the prerequisite to carry out work without lethargy and be successful in life.
Increased intake of junk food, sedentary life devoid of out door activities and exercises, long
hours of screen time, addiction to social media etc are some unhealthy trends that have emerged
as a result of changing lifestyles. Even sleep patterns are affected in the rat race to meet
deadlines in the competitive atmosphere created by the advancement in technology. As these
unhealthy habits have replaced healthy food habits and social relationships, people have started
falling preys to lifestyle diseases.
Resisting from consuming junk food, doing regular exercises, detaching from addictive
influences of social media are very essential to prevent the body and mind from falling sick. One
has to set realistic goals and work towards it in a systematic and planned manner to keep away
depression and anxiety. Practicing yoga and maintaining interpersonal relationships at work and
home also can go a long way in boosting up mental health.
As the saying goes, you can draw a picture, only if the wall exists. It is foolish and meaningless
to sacrifice your physical and mental wellbeing in the process of pursuing modern life.

Earth is the only planet on which life is sustained, though speculations of presence of life and its
possibilities elsewhere cannot be ruled out.
Earth’s environment is very important for the survival of life. But it is deteriorating day by day
due to indiscriminate exploitation by humans. As human population increases forests are
disappearing and resources are drained to meet their needs. Many species have been extinct and
many are on the verge of extinction leading to imbalance of eco systems.
Increase in temperature or global warming is playing havoc on the climate of the planet, resulting
in extreme droughts, forest fires, floods and storms which are becoming quite frequent. This
adversely affect crops and food production. Air and water pollution, accumulated
nonbiodegradable wastes etc. pose a threat to health and wellbeing of humans, causing health
hazards like cancer, breathing troubles and skin afflictions.
It is high time we make sincere efforts to save our planet. The young generation should be
sensitized about the gravity of the situation and should pay active role in repairing and rebuilding
the environment. Awareness about the concept of sustainable development and its
implementation has prime importance. Developmental activities should keep the need of future
generations in mind and see to it that nature is not impaired in the process.
Following the policy of Reduce, Recycle and reuse and depending on public transport also will
go a long way in preserving the precious resources and ensuring a better life for the future
generations.
