So, let’s get started!
Initial Chain -Look up your desired blanket size in the table and chain the indicated
number of chains. This chain count reflects the blanket length plus the 1 turning chain
Row 1: HDC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in each of next chains. Turn.
When you begin Row 1 of Half Double Crochet (HDC), you will skip the first chain from the hook to act as
your turning chain. This means your first row and all will have one fewer stitch than the initial chain. For
instance, if the table says chain 101, you will end up with 100 HDC stitches in Row 1.

Row 2, 3, 4, 5: Ch1, BLHDC in each st, across. Turn. The edge is done. Do not cut the yarn.
👉 Important:
In row 6, the first and last 6 stitches form the border and should be worked in BLHDC.
To make these stitches easy to see, place one stitch marker in the 7th stitch from the
beginning, and another marker in the 7th stitch from the end, before the last 6 stitches
All stitches between these two markers will be worked in alternating FPDC and BPDC.

Row 6: Ch1, BLHDC in the first 6 sts, *FPDC in next st, BPDC in next st*, repeat from *-*
until the last 6 stitches, BLHDC in those last 6 sts. Turn.

Rows 6 through 9
- form the main repeating section of this blanket pattern.
REPEAT Rows 6-9 for the number of pattern repeat specified in the table for your size.
Exemple:
- If you see 7 repeats in the table, it means you will work rows 6–9 seven times in total:
this includes the very first time you do rows 6–9, plus six additional repeats.
or
- When you see 10 repeats in the table, it means you will work rows 6–9 ten times in total:
this includes the very first time you do rows 6–9, plus nine additional repeats.
These row counts do not include the 6 border rows at the beginning of your blanket.

These row counts can be scaled up or down depending on your preferred total width, your
yarn weight, your gauge/tension, and personal preference. Please note that all
measurements and numbers are approximate and can be adjusted as needed.
Once you’ve completed the last repeat of Rows 6-9,
work 2 more rows for the bottom border:
Row 1: BLHDC in each st, across. Ch1, turn
Row 2: SC in in each st, across. At the end, cut the yarn and weave in all ends.
