AOI Programming Work Instructions
For Viscom AOI programming we are doing program conversion, components
assignment and fine tuning on Offline programming PC with help of overview
images of one Good PCB.
Pre-requirements-
- AOI should be connected to the offline server/Programming PC by local network.
- All mapped network folders for offline PC and machine in ‘This PC’ should be
connected.
- One Good/Pass board should be present of Assy which program need to create.
Below is the required steps to create the program on offline PC:
Step 1: Start the Inspection application
And choose the Optimization mode for
Programming.

Step 2: Go to the Tools Menu→ and then Cad converter
As shown in below snap, cad converter is available in program
generation tools.

Step 3:
In cad converter, Choose EPM option.

Step 4: Choose the required file, you can search by filter option.
Source library should be the your library, so existing components will
assign automatically.
Assign program name.
Click convert.
Don’t change other parameters,
Which come by default.
Select the library type as per
Requirement local or global.

Step 5:
After successful conversion it will show below window, then click yes.
Then you new converted program will be loaded.
Then click End to out from the current window.

Step 6: To component assignment we need to take the overview images from
machine. So export the program to server by using option setup server, select
the program and library and click export.

Step 7: Now at machine application load the new program which is just
exported from offline PC. After loading the program take the Good board in
machine.
Use transport option and Infeed the board.
Infeed option is available as shown in snap, after infeed and clamping click
End.

Step 8: After infeed of Good PCB click on PCB calibration option as shown in
snap.
Then click on any fiducial and match
To the cross mark as shown in snap
By moving on PCB fiducial.
After matching fiducial click
end, it will ask to save values.
Click on Yes to save.

Step 9: Taking overview Images
To collect overview images, go to live snapper option. And then click overview
images. Machine will start to take overview images with all 9 required
illumination and take 2-3 minutes to finish. Once machine complete the process
click on save and then End.

Step 10: Assignment of barcodes
Step A- To Assign the barcode Choose Live snapper option, as shown in
snap.
Step B- Select 3D overlay option and match the Crossmark to the centre of
barcode.

Step C- After alignment of Crossmark (as shown in below snap) on the
barcode click on add option.

Step D: Add option will popup the below window.
In parent type select the barcode type- Panel barcode/ Board barcode
Then give the ID to barcode, similar to reference designator.
Also give the type, and click ok → save. Then barcode component will
generate at given location as shown in snap.

Step E: Then back to optimization mode screen and click on barcode, and
click on properties.
You will get below options, choose ‘Select from library’. Then it will allow to
assign component from library. Choose → Viscom_3D library →
Identification package→ Label 2D code → copy → Execute.
Now the barcode is assigned.

Note :
For the barcode type Data matric code, QR code need to copy package
label 2D code, refer below image.

Step 11: Export from Machine
After taking the overview images and assigning barcode the work at machine
is finished. Now need to export the program from machine to send the images
at offline Programming PC.
Export the program as per step no. 6.
Now at offline PC Import the program by selecting option import in setup
server. Select the program and library as per step 6 and import and then click
End.

Step 12: Adding overview images to active set for programming.
To add images go to option Overview image Manger in tools menu.
Then select all images by ‘Select All’ option and the click on ‘+’ mark at
present at left bottom. This will add the images to active set. Now click
save and then click exit.

Step 13: PCB Calibration
Now perform the PCB calibration as per step no. 8
After PCB calibration program is ready for the component assignment /
Creation / Fine tuning.
Once the program is ready with fine tuning export to the server to save the
changes and updates.
After exporting ready program from offline PC you can load and run the
program in auto mode at machine.

Step 14: Send good image to vVerify station.
To send the good image at vVerify station follow below steps,
Go to overview image manger option,
From left side active image set select
required illumination image and click
the option Generate VVerify overview.

After clicking on Generate VVerify Overview below window will open, Click
on ‘Create’. Then the massage will be shown as shown in below snap as
image is created.
Now the good image is created at vVerify PC and the PC is ready to review
the inspected PCB.

Step to rename or copy the program: Go to program explorer from tools
menu, From right side, right click on program which you want to rename or
copy, Then type a name and
press Enter. The program
is renamed or copied with
new given name.
