Infinite Mirror Report

This report describes an optics experiment conducted by physics students using a flat mirror and a semi-mirror to create an "infinite mirror." The goal was to demonstrate reflection properties using Christmas lights between the mirrors. The report details the materials used and the steps taken, and concludes that experiments can help students understand and apply physical concepts.

Introduction
The use of experiences for explanation and
exemplification of themes covered in the classroom
allows the student to assimilate the studied concept as well
how it offers possibilities for this student
relate the verified case to your daily life, and with that
understand the subject explained more easily
by the teacher, making learning meaningful.
This work aims to study concepts
physicists and relate them to the student's daily life, through
of demonstration and use of experiments in light of
theories, in order to facilitate the understanding of the students
through the relationship of these with everyday life, besides
demonstrate the importance of using laboratories
in the classroom, that empowers the student, thus doing so with
that learning makes sense in your life. At a glance
Therefore, this research has the following problem: How
relate the physical concepts present in the experiment
infinite mirror with the student's daily life? Because of that
reason, this investigation seeks to theoretically analyze the
concepts of reflection, refraction, rays of light and mirrors
plans, in addition to bringing all these concepts together in a
experiment called infinite mirror Finally, it will be
possible to verify the importance of experience for the
student, relating theoretical concepts to the
practical, facilitating the student's learning.
The experiment is carried out using a flat mirror, a semi
mirror, cardboard, and Christmas lights, with the lights being
they will be between the two mirrors. When the lights are
linked, it can be observed that these are reflected in
flat mirror, and upon reaching the semi mirror part of them
crosses, arriving at our eyes; part returns to
flat mirror, and with that one can check that the
light intensity decreases after being reflected
many times, until we can no longer see the rays of light.
Objective of the experiment

The experiment aims to demonstrate the

reflective properties of the association of a mirror and
a semi-mirror the experiment 'Infinite Mirror' must
shows the formation of infinite images by placing oneself
a mirror and semi-mirror in parallel in a chamber.
Flat mirrors can be associated, that is,
placed side by side at an angle or arranged
parallel to each other. These associations can
shift or multiply the number of images of a
object. The multiplication of images occurs because the
the image of a mirror is an object for the other mirror.

Materials
1- Plane mirror

2- Glass with mirrored film (semi-mirror)

3- Christmas lights

4 - Cardboard strips

Description
Initially, a flat mirror was used.
also a piece of glass covered with mirrored film and
for the effect of infinite mirror a set of
Christmas lights of various colors and so that the mirror does not
lean against the glass with film, four strips were cut from
cardboard that was used as support for the Christmas lights and
also as a supporter of the mirror when assembling the structure of the
cardboard strips are glued with tape on the
extremities of the flat mirror After all the lamps of
They will be inserted into the cardboard strips, the glass with
mirrored automotive window film is placed on the surface,
in order to verify the behavior of the lights
Finally, just turn on the Christmas lights and it will be possible to verify.
all the concepts studied theoretically can be verified
behavior of Christmas lights amidst the glass with
insulating film and the flat mirror. It is possible to verify that the lights
first they reflect in the flat mirror and return to the semi
mirror, but as this is not a perfect mirror, it reflects
part of the light causing the other part to reach us
eyes, a fact that would not be possible to verify if the lights
they were between two flat mirrors. As the light is
reflected and refracted, it loses its intensity, giving the
printing of an infinite hole of lights, that go
weakening as they get further away from the
our eyes.

Conclusion
Physics provides us with various concepts that can be
used to explain how the light hole occurs
infinite, called the infinite mirror. The concepts used
In this work to explain these phenomena, there was reflection,
refraction, rays of light and plane mirrors. All the concepts
studied in the classroom can be proven based on the
use of experiments using concrete materials,
making learning more meaningful for the student.
In conclusion, it is possible from the experiments
check the applicability of the concepts already seen, relate
the everyday and build, from this, new
knowledge, developing the spirit in the student
questioner and observer.
