CALCULATION MEMO OF ORNAMENTAL COLUMN STRUCTURE
H=6.77M
1. INTRODUCTION
This document includes the calculations and verifications made on
the ornamental reinforced concrete column structure with a height of 6.77m, also includes the
design of its foundation which corresponds to an isolated footing to foundation slab
reinforced with a depth of 2.10m.
The following are the design considerations and the regulations used. Also
the designs and checks of the main elements of the structures are presented.
2. ORNAMENTAL REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMN
The dimensions of the columns are a height of 6.77 from the finished floor and 8.97m from there.
the top part of your insulated shoe. The section corresponds to a hollow section,
dimensions of 1.5m x 1.50m external, and an internal section of 1.20m x 1.20m.
2.1. DESIGN REGULATIONS
The main references are:
Technical Standard E.030 Seismic Resistance Design (2016).
Technical Standard E.060 Reinforced Concrete.
2.2. MATERIALS
Concrete fc=210 kgf/cm2 or 21 MPa.
Reinforcement bars: Corrugated according to standard NTP 341.031 or NTP
339.186 ASTM A615 Grade 60 quality.
2.3. LOADS
The national standard E.020 Loads encompasses the loads to be applied to the structural model.
2.3.1. PERMANENT LOADS
Self Weight (Pp)
The self-weight of the structure constitutes the self-weight of the structure calculated.
in the structural model, it corresponds to the standardized self-weight for concrete
assembly of 2.4 tnf/m3 or 23.54 kN/m3.
2.3.2. LIVE LOAD
Live load on the ornamental column is not considered.
2.3.3. WIND LOAD (WIND Y AND WIND X)
Given the height of 6.77m of the column, the depreciable wind load is considered.
so it is not taken into account.
2.3.4. EARTHQUAKE LOADS
The ornamental column is analyzed as a cantilever vertical beam subjected to a
horizontal earthquake force. Such force corresponds to the base force of the structure.
The following seismic parameters that are equal in both are taken into account.
directions by the symmetry of the structure:
Seismic Zone 3: Z=0.35
Usage factor: U=1.0 common buildings
Factor C: C=2.5
Factor S2: S=1.15
Reduction factor R=8 frames.
Vertical earthquake is not considered.
2.4. LOAD COMBINATIONS
The predominant load combination is U=1.25(D+L)±E, which will be used in all
the designs.
2.5. STRUCTURAL MODEL
The structural model of the column corresponds to a cantilever vertical beam.
Subjected to a horizontal basal force V, the column only supports its own weight and the
restraints that it may have. Therefore, it is an isostatic structure in which will be evaluated
the bending moment and the acting shear force. The column is considered
embedded in the isolated footing.
2.6. STRUCTURAL DESIGN
In the reinforcement calculation for the seismic action that is critical, it yields amounts that are much
below the minimum, as it is an architectural ornamental column
consider sufficient to place a minimum of 0.5 of the minimum amount required by the
norm.

3. ISOLATED ZAPATA
3.1. REGULATIONS
Technical Standard E.030 Seismic Resistant Design (2016)
Technical Standard E.060 Reinforced Concrete.
3.2. MATERIALS
Concrete fc=210 kgf/cm2 or 21 MPa.
Reinforcement bars: Corrugated according to the NTP 341.031 or NTP 339.186 standard.
ASTM A615 Grade 60 quality.
3.3. LOADS
The loads already applied to the structural model will be presented.
Dead Load D:
Understand the self-weight load of the column: Ppcol.
Self weight of the shoe: Ppzap.
Self-weight of the ground: Ppterr.
Own weight of ornamental cyclopean concrete Ppco.
Load D corresponds to the sum of all the mentioned ones.
Live Load L:
It does not apply, L=0 will be taken
Seismic Load E:
It corresponds to that applied to the column. The action on the foundation translates to a moment.
deflector that will cause eccentricity in the shoe.
3.4. LOAD COMBINATIONS
Only the combination applies:
U=1.25(D+L)±E
3.5. STRUCTURAL DESIGN
The minimum amount for foundations is considered to be 0.0018 and a lower cover of
0.10m, the pressures on the ground should not exceed 1.5 kgf/cm2 or: 147.10 kN/m2
in the condition of gravity. And in the condition of earthquake 1.3 times the capacity of
land.
