Data Analytics Weekend Learning Roadmap (3 hrs/day)

Month 1 – Excel & SQL

Weekend 1 (Next Saturday & Sunday)

Saturday (3 hrs) - Introduction to Data Analytics (15–20 min) – concepts, workflow, career use cases -
Excel Basics (1 hr) – Cells, formulas, basic formatting - Hands-on Practice (1 hr 40 min) – SUM, AVERAGE,
COUNT, simple calculations Resources: - Microsoft Excel Training - Excel Tutorial for Beginners -
YouTube - Excel Easy

Sunday (3 hrs) - Excel Intermediate (1 hr) – IF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, CONCATENATE - Practice Exercises
(2 hrs) – small dataset analysis, create simple tables Resources: Same as above + Kaggle Excel Datasets

Weekend 2

Saturday (3 hrs) - Pivot Tables & Charts (1.5 hrs) - Practice Dataset (1.5 hrs) Resources: Excel Training +
Excel Easy

Sunday (3 hrs) - Data Cleaning in Excel (1 hr) - Practice (2 hrs) Resources: Same as above

Weekend 3

Saturday (3 hrs) - SQL Basics – SELECT, FROM, WHERE (1.5 hrs) - Practice Queries (1.5 hrs) Resources:
W3Schools SQL Tutorial, Mode Analytics SQL

Sunday (3 hrs) - SQL Aggregations – GROUP BY, ORDER BY (1 hr) - Practice Queries (2 hrs) Resources:
Same as above + LeetCode SQL

Weekend 4

Saturday (3 hrs) - SQL Joins – INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, RIGHT JOIN (1.5 hrs) - Hands-on Queries (1.5 hrs)
Resources: Same as above

Sunday (3 hrs) - Advanced SQL – Subqueries, Aliases (1 hr) - Practice on sample datasets (2 hrs)
Resources: Same as above + Kaggle SQL datasets

Month 2 – Python Basics & Pandas

Weekend 5

Saturday (3 hrs) - Python Basics – variables, loops, functions (1.5 hrs) - Practice exercises (1.5 hrs)
Resources: Kaggle Python Course, FreeCodeCamp Python for Data Science

Sunday (3 hrs) - Pandas basics – DataFrames, CSV/Excel import (1 hr) - Hands-on data cleaning &
manipulation (2 hrs) Resources: Kaggle Pandas Course

Saturday (3 hrs) - Pandas – Filtering, aggregation, groupby (1.5 hrs) - Practice exercises (1.5 hrs)

Sunday (3 hrs) - NumPy basics (arrays, operations) (1 hr) - Practice exercises (2 hrs) Resources: Kaggle
Pandas + NumPy tutorials

Weekend 7 & 8

• Advanced Pandas – Handling missing values, merging datasets


• Practice on real-world datasets from Kaggle

Month 3 – Data Visualization & BI Tools


• Matplotlib & Seaborn tutorials + practice
• Power BI basics: connecting datasets, building dashboards
• Free resources: Seaborn Tutorial, Power BI Learn

Month 4 – Statistics
• Descriptive stats (mean, median, variance, correlation)
• Inferential stats (hypothesis testing, chi-square, ANOVA)
• Free resources: StatQuest YouTube

Month 5 – Machine Learning Basics


• Regression (linear, logistic), Classification, Clustering
• Practice simple ML models in Python
• Free resources: Scikit-Learn Documentation

Month 6 – Projects & Portfolio


• Project 1: Sales Dashboard (Power BI)
• Project 2: Student Performance Analysis (SQL + Python)
• Project 3: Customer Churn Prediction (Python + ML)
• Upload projects to GitHub
• Document outcomes & visualizations

Outcome after 6 months: - Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI - Strong foundation in statistics
and basic ML - 3 portfolio-ready projects - Job-ready for Data Analyst roles

Tips: - Stick to 3 hrs/day on Saturday & Sunday - Practice is key – use Kaggle datasets - Revise previous
weekends before starting a new one
