Topic: Word Problems in Capacity

Subtopic: Understanding and Measuring Capacity

Aim: To help students apply the concept of capacity to solve practical problems using
standard units.

Objectives:
- Students will understand what capacity is and identify units of measurement (litres,
millilitres).

- Students will measure and compare capacities of different containers.

- Students will solve word problems involving capacity in daily life.

Procedures:
- Introduction: Discuss what capacity means; show different containers.

- Teaching & Demonstration: Demonstrate measuring liquids using cups, jugs, and litres.

- Guided & Independent Practice: Students measure water in different containers and solve
word problems.

Evaluation:
Observe students during practice activities; check recorded measurements and word
problem solutions.

Homework:
Measure and record the capacity of 5 containers at home.
